Would you rather JVR than Kane? Leafs want D. I'd consider it. |

The majority of my FB friends are in TO. It's blowing up over Travares. Not one of them thinks it will cost them a top prospect or #1 pick because he's a pending UFA.
These guys keep razzing me over us trading 2nd round picks and signing vets beccause we havent committed to rebuild like them. Wait, they were going to trade future for Stammers rights, they traded a #1 for a barely average vet goalie... and surely will need to give up a top prospect and a 1st for JT. At what point do they think, wait, our team has been trying to go *win now* since late last season and are ready to do the Kesel thing all over again as early as last TDL.
It's amazing how people will ignore whats happening under their nose and just repeat the media narrative. Toronto is not commited to one thing or the other. It is totally fluid. - boonerbuck

Going soft Makita. - walshyleafsfan
Not really, I watched the game in which Matthews scored 4 goals and I was impressed with Marner more. Which of course didn't sit well with many here.
And I'm still more impressed with Marner over Matthews for Toronto, personal opinion that's all. |

Sedin style, they really need to be 2nd line guys. - Makita
Could you imagine the Sedins as the Montreal 2nd line for the next season and 2/3? |

I think that's what most Leafs fans think (on HB anyway).
Marner's the top dog. Matthews and Nylander the supporting cast |

Without being disrespectful of Lefty, I would take Datsyuk over Matthews every day of the week. But I am a fan of Marner - Makita
Finding datsyuks is near impossible ....finding Mathews marner etc is easier ...they are at the top of the draft |

They don't really fit Montreal's style - VANTEL
I think a team should have more then one "style". Different players who can play a different game, keeps your opponent on their toes. I think that's why the Sedins continue to be successful, everyone is knows they are going to cycle the puck and yet they still manage to get wide open in the slot for the one time pass. |

I don't think Montreal can find the cap space though. |

like that's what is stopping a trade from happening
Canucks could retain 50% of each player, so 7ml cap - there would have to be contracts coming back. |

Interesting. If JB ads a second then they'd probably think about it. |

Canucks need a young C with potential to develop in to a 1C - Galchenyuk ?
and some picks? Montreal has an extra 2nd in 2018 from Chicago, and maybe a 1st. |

In all seriousness Lou is a shrewd man. He'd at least want Hutton. I'd say no at that point. |
