what? - Codes1087
I was going to say the same, he needs to communicate properly and not assume people can understand incoherent babble speak. |

You're not following ....signing a notorious slow adjusting free agent pretending it will mean instant goals; passing over numerous mid level free agents now scoring on other teams; no waiver pick ups; letting go of versatile players like Vey for Plugs like Skille etc calling it depth .... sounds like a stealth tank... doesn't it - Nuck4U
People follow train of thoughts, but when you explain like this it helps keep out the WTF does that mean. |

You say stealth tank when you still have hope, you want to believe that management is not ACTUALLY as stupid as it makes itself look. |

Wondering if the goalie intrigue between Demko and Gartieg is either setting up Canucks for future depth to rely on for a long run if there are injuries etc. cause they say you need 3 good goalies in your system. Or a development of depth for a trade to fill a need as back ups can always be found .... |

Goalies are voodoo and you don't really know what you have in one until they start playing 40 games a year in the NHL.
Even then there are guys who look awesome in the 1A role and never quite can handle a starter's role.
I expect that Gartieg will outplay Demko at times in the AHL and people will freak out. Remember he should be the better goalie at this stage. Demko also has looked much better recently but still is struggling to learn how to play against pro's. Canucks are lucky Melanson is willing to continue working in Utica.

Lol not bad .... or if management has to placate ownership on the win now sell while realizing that things aren't going to work that way...?
Though seriously here there is a diverse opinion over what is really going on. WD's role and true understating of Today's NHL game. The plan...? Develop, retool, rebuild push versus try for playoffs. It's steeped with innuendos and complications of what the direction is... guess it has something to do with fluidity of situations as well. Complications for sure in trying to grapple with the what where and why. |

With all of the trade Tanev people on here and the Yotes looking to move Duclair. What do you think about a deal with those as the main pieces?
The Yotes were trying to grab Trouba from the peg according to rumors as they need a top pairing RD to play OEL.
Tanev for Duclair and a 1st? - mauryballstein
I'd do that for sure but the Coyotes wouldn't. That will be a top 5 pick |

@mauryballstein
Prob something like Tanev For Duclair +conditional 2017 2nd + conditional 2018 2nd. Conditions being that if the 1st falls outside the top 10 or 15 they both turn into that 2017 1st, otherwise it becomes the 2 2nd's would be more likely. But we may need to add to tanev for a deal like that. He has more value than Duclair for sure, but idk if that much more. |

Never said he was picked up on waivers by Canucks. Vey was the AHL plug playing on the second line....for the tank job - Nuck4U
you mentioned waiver picks being for teams who want to win now,
then you mentioned linden vey of last year. Linden vey has nothing to do with any or either of things you mentioned. He wasn't picked up by anyone on waivers and he wasn't signed by a team who is looking to win now. He was sent to Utica (not picked up) and he was signed by a non playoff team who some MIGHT say is looking to win now. |

Is not his fault.....sometime team's like Nucks bring out the best...or worse in people....and management certainly does help in that regard....?
But...its medias fault. |

Yes well said ...I'd add Marky hasn't proven he's ready for the number one just yet look at his play of recent has cost games instead of being good enough.
Even Price didn't develop until last couple years as the to be solid and now outstanding. The rookie goaltending phenom for playoffs I believe is an anomaly and that the position consistency isn't truely learned until a higher ages level.

Vey was mentioned as just a small example of the tank job from last season. As in using AHL quality players playing second line minutes... like they are doing now with Chaput. Why you are so bent on making some factual point that has nothing to do with the veiled sleight ...on tanking... I don't know... |
