Let's hope there's another meat and potatoes, 'power' winger available at that position |

The somewhat amusing part about this ridiculous narrative is that this all came because of the 7th round pick used on Stewart. Benning typically avoids the "meat and potato" type player. Brisbois, Demko, Lockwood, Forsling, Mackenzie, Jasek, Zukanov etc. |

I honestly think it comes down to if they can rip the puck or not. Nothing wrong with that but I think that has been the common theme in many of his picks.
Virtanen, McCann, Forsling, Boeser, Gaudette, Lockewood and to a lesser extent Tryamkin, Jasek, Neil, Olsen and Stukel. |

I could be wrong but I think it all came from a quote after him drafting Virtanen.
Mackenzie was only focused on because Benning signed him immediately and insisted he start the year in Utica. |

TSN has Granlund ahead of Sven and Gaunce for the last protected spot on their lists so far - WhiteLie
Thanks for sharing. I would think it is Baertschi spot to lose even with his slow start. I also still think it is possible Rodin comes in a turns a few heads.
I imagine Vegas will be playing it safe in many scenerios, just trying to get NHL talent but they will likely take a couple of chances and I could see Rodin being one. |

Totally agree with the whole post, but especially with Vegas taking a chance on a skill player from VAN. With the lack of safe talent being exposed, might as well swing for the fences on a Rodin/Sven type player. Worst case for Vegas, they have players for their AHL team |

Ya, I think there a few teams that as of right now will be exposing some sure fire NHLers but with 30 players that need to be taken there is definitely room to gamble.

Yes, that was weird....he must have had a soft spot for the kid. Anyways, a 7th round pick is close to useless. |

Adding to my earlier trade proposal.
Where is Miller more likely to sign next year when the west coast looks unlikely?
SJ maybe but Arizona is prolly next best or more suitable. |
