It's pretty hard to imagine JV being close to Tkachuk at this stage. Tkachuk has better hockey sense and a far greater work ethic. Hopefully Green and some time riding the buses will help instill some consistent hustle in the kid

Hold on here let's not pile this all on JV. The kid was praised last season when he hustled to level Mcdavid and so on hitting everything that moved when he got minutes. Then they wanted offense out of him. So he made it to Baertchi Horvat line last season. Then this season starts and WD laid out different deployments for all. Results so far a productionless Baertchi, lost JV and held back Bo.

Well ok, people would still hate on Edler in this thread if he got 70-80 points, you've got me there. I was posting in response to Burn's new contract of 8x8. Edler does not have his durability or offensive ability. He's arguably better defensively. Burns is signed until he's 40... seems that some guys can do that (thorton) but not many. I do agree the term is a little long.

True, but the onus has finally been put on J.V himself, in an environment where he can hopefully succeed playing in the top 6 under a competent coach.

If he can't hack it down there then the red flags must be raised.

This is starting to sound like the argument between Kassian and CoHo. Lets just call it what it is. The player fell in the draft ranking and we took him because of the pedigree. Then we realized what the other 23 Gms already knew and dealt his ass before it was exposed and got back the best we could have. Neither one of these guys will have any significant impact on their teams or the league. Move on.
