High draft picks are great and give you a good chance at elite talent. It's not the end all and be all.

Look at Vegas Knights now. They think being lotto players next 5/6 years will bring them a championship. If that was true we would have 30 Stanley Cup winning teams. It's an elite club for a reason. It's not a simple model of suck for years and you get the prize.

That said if Canucks try it all and can't win then by all means daft high and get an Elite player and substantive picks below. Make more changes to team and structure and roll it out again.
