Buffalo wanted Boeser Juolevi or Tanev for Kane. Screw them. Keep him |

Brian Elliot will improve if the forwards improve. - manvanfan
Brian Elliott is overrated and aging, will probably be too old by the time the Flames are ready to compete |

Contracts for next season.
Gudbranson 3.6x6 (sorry he doesn't score not worth $4 plus a year even if he plays top 4 minutes)
Horvat 2.8X2 or 5X6
Tryamkin 1X1.75
Hutton 4X6 - manvanfan
As much as that makes sense, any agent with half a brain will walk into JB's office and say "you're paying an older and worse player in Sbisa 3.6 per year", I think depending on term and UFA years taken, I would guess he gets $4.6 minimum |

You would hope so. I think in years past the team has done a good job establishing their pay structure, with Edler as their #1 they havent let anyone be paid more than him, even on the 2011 team. Fingers crossed JB keeps that intact |

I 100% agree. Goals should not be the standard on how you value a defensive defensemen. I would hope that Gudbranson signs anywhere between 4 and 4.5 per x 4. |

Possible. Tanev's value was overblown due to decent play at the WHC no-hit championships. Plus he is injury prone now I'm not sure his value is higher than a trouble making player like Kane. |

Dorsett is not a bad player. It is not his fault he is surrounded by crap.
He is good on the PK , he can score 8 a year, he provides toughness, he does anything asked of him.
When you play him with Gaunce and Skille what kind of magic are you expecting.
NYR used Dorsett to shut down Crosby to playoff elimination 3 years ago. - VANTEL
ya I think he's useful in very needed ways and most fans dont realize all that he does |

I know Dragon it hurt not getting him. More sad is if they get another lotto crack this draft I don't see anyone that comes close to Laine, do you? - Nuck4U
I havent looked at all. Ive been very occupied with other stuff.
He's a special talent though so I wouldnt expect another to come along anytime soon |

Evander Kane has scored more than 20 goals once.
Trading a top 3 D for him is asinine. |

At this point trading for anyone, in realistic terms, is asinine, let alone Evander Kane. At one point I really liked the kid but he's damaged goods now, we don't need his presence in the locker room.
Just fight thru the next couple of seasons until the twins are gone and continue to draft well....screw the shortcut method. |

You assume JB is going to make the same mistake again. 4.6 for a guy who puts up 10 points a year is a way over payment. At least Tanev who is better then Guds has put up 20. Back to the Dorsett type player that skill set is needed but not worth a contract over someone who can put up 10 more points. |

Not necessarily. Someone young that can be part of the team going forward makes sense. Just no projects like Baerschi. Someone like Barzal, or Mcleod,or Vrana someone like that makes sense. |
