I'd back a Brinks truck for him, but I doubt he's gonna want to play here |

I agree. And the fact that they let him come home to grab his blanky and return makes me think it's long term.

No doubt, the worse thing that could happen is that I'm proven wrong, at which point the team benefits lol. Not a bad trade off.
Besides, the humor has been pretty epic.

I suppose this means JV is in for the long stay in Utica we all want for him At least they finally seem to have figured out the right way to handle him. - NorthNuck
Well WD had no clue how to handle him. |

Green will do him good, and it looks like we're trending towards a WD firing, so JV could start fresh next year with the experience of some AHL time and a new coach |

Tkachuk versus Juolevi will be far more interesting...Sadly, we will have to wait 5 years to know who won |

Haha fkn ha.
Shink's skill set? This should be interesting... he has no two way game, is a north south player only, has a decent but not excellent shot, his skating is average at best, plays one position... defensively weak....
Granlund is a way more versatile player who actually has a wider range of skills. I'm not sure Shink is better in any skill to be honest... I think there is a few washes but... - boonerbuck
This is starting to sound like the argument between Kassian and CoHo. Lets just call it what it is. The player fell in the draft ranking and we took him because of the pedigree. Then we realized what the other 23 Gms already knew and dealt his ass before it was exposed and got back the best we could have. Neither one of these guys will have any significant impact on their teams or the league. Move on. |

With WD at the helm of the good ship lolly pop it's his only hope now and he knows it. Why you here positive reports about his good attitude from Green.

That would have happened under WD why he wouldn't play him. Skill and scoring isn't in the WD tool set. |

It would never be a fair comparison, a forward vs a D-man, a better comparison would be JV vs Tkachuk in 4 or 5 years from now. To be fair, we needed a #1 or #2 D prospect for some time and at the time of the draft we expected JV to be as good as, if not better than Tkachuk might be in their primes.
Not to mention, JB expected to pick Dubois in that spot and had OJ as his second choice, clearly he wasn't very happy at the time to make that pick and you could tell he was pissed at Columbus for doing so. |

If I had to place a bet I would wager we will see Juolevi for some games next year...I just meant quite often you don't know what you have in a young Dman until they are 22/23. He is a very cerebral and talented kid but he is too skinny. I like the pick but it will require patience |

It's pretty hard to imagine JV being close to Tkachuk at this stage. Tkachuk has better hockey sense and a far greater work ethic. Hopefully Green and some time riding the buses will help instill some consistent hustle in the kid |
