That was a tough game to give a way like that. Its not like the penalties weren't penalties... To me the first line struggled again and that's tough to win games when they don't play well.
some positives as I get ready for my annual philly pilgrimage ....Provorov continues to grow as a player and by the mid season mark will probably be the best all around D man on the team. Mason was great, and that analysis doesn't often come from me, but the guy was solid. Konecny continues to play with speed and grit as we reach the 1/4 pole mark. I also love Wayne Simmonds game this year. He just looks faster and more confident. Looking forward to Fridays game!!

Why? You'd like to see him get another ~25 games so we can protect Brandon Manning? That's the only reason.
Manning has been nice in the progress he's made, but he's still a bottom guy, and Vegas will have better d options elsewhere, plus our forwards are more attractive. If he's taken, which I am skeptical about when guys like Weise and Laughton and Cousins could be there, it's no great loss if you have to lose an asset. Playing MacDonald half the season to bring the team down isn't worth it for me. They won't take him anyway. If the Flyers don't resign MDZ -- whose value actually could be more favorable right now to keep -- then the spot could be used to acquire another asset some team wants to or will lose perhaps. |

I'd rather see the Flyers be, you know, good now.
Charlie at BSH wrote a game recap and had a bit on MacDonald. Charlie is generally a very even handed writer and not prone to being a zealot. He made a very strong case that came to the conclusion that MacDonald should be in the AHL right now.
I am not a send MacDonald to the AHL guy, but it was food for thought.
