At the same age Pronger was better. At 38 he was retired. - Fredobface
Yeah but as far as we know Weber hasn't had concussion issues so far.
He was still a 50 points player |

That type of injury had nothing to do with his age |

The thing is some would like to see Pacioretty stand up for teammates, or at least for himself...but the guy is a big wussy. So a more realistic expectations should be that someone else stands up for our 30 goal scorer...but our other players are midgets.
Giving him the C was a mistake...in hindsight giving it to Subban wouldn't have worked out either...Plekanec wouldn't have been better...so Gallagher or Markov? Those were my choices but not ideal... Knowing Therrien, Mitchell and Flynn were on the short list. - number_23
I know, but it is what it is. Max will always be a wussy. If a deal come around that makes sense, then yes , by all means pull the trigger.
I don't think the team has leadership issues anymore with this year's team, maybe some little ones while Webber carves out his spot in the room without rocking the boat too much. |

I could be wrong but I don't get the impression that Weber is a big talker...more of a on the ice leader. Similar to Markov. |

Markov's style of play is less physical and more forgiving on the body than Weber's.
I hope Weber will remain effective through the end of his contract, but there is reason to doubt.
A better comparable IMO would be Chara. - _nay_
Chara still remains a top pairing 25 minute defenseman at 39 or however ancient that lunatic is. |

He still has value, but like Asp said a while ago, he's a young Michael Ryder. Great shot, that's it. We can't get a 60pts centre for him but I would be happy with a 45pts centre who fits better with Gallagher. - Not_Yan
And what did that bum end up doing the rest of his career?

Neither is Price, but sometimes leaders aren't big talkers.
