Pacioretty, aside of his lucky goal, destroys momentum shift after shift. Plekanec is on a slump and lacks timing, always too slow to react to quick passes in front.
You know what, I'm pretty sure Bergevin sees what we see and is considering a trade for real. - Not_Yan
He did hit the post that one time.
And of course Pacioretty still has value... jesus christ he's been a top 5 goal scorer in the league in the last 4 years. |

i don't think that's the kind of trade Montreal should be making. (unless Pacioretty asks/has asked for a trade... which would not be totally shocking) - DoubleDown
I disagree, he has a good name, great caphit. Coach doesn't really like him, I'd take a proven forward, even if he's a little bit less of a scorer if he brings more CHaracter. |

maybe i misunderstood what he was saying but i think Yan meant that Bergevin was looking to bring in some help, not to trade Pacioretty. i just don't see the benefit to trading Pacioretty. i don't believe that this is just who he is now... still confident he snaps out of it and grows a set of testicles at some pont.

He still has value, but like Asp said a while ago, he's a young Michael Ryder. Great shot, that's it. We can't get a 60pts centre for him but I would be happy with a 45pts centre who fits better with Gallagher. - Not_Yan
Ok, so at the quarter mark ( I realize everyone is sensitive after last year), leading the league and we're giving up our best goal scorer for a 45 pt centre? Don't hate but I disagree with this. Surely there are other assets available to acquire someone with Desharnais like production. |

yeah that's what this team needs. fewer goals scorers and more character. |

Ok, take the top 10 scoring wingers...of which Pacioretty is one...any of the other teams trade their guy for ours?
(I'm asking, I don't even know who makes that list...but if the answer is no, what does that mean?) |

this has been my point. when we talk about offensive upgrades... it's a modest term in Montreal. to improve this team's offence you don't need to sell the farm. |

He had a good game last night, was one of the few forcing turnovers. His big issue is shooting the puck, he needs to do it a whole lot more. Way off his avg. |

if you trade Pacioretty and don't get back someone who is a lock for 30 goals on a sensible long term deal in his late 20s, you've lost that trade. |

yeah big time. also stop moving him up and down the lineup. just let him settle in somewhere. only reason to move him off this current line is if you're putting him back with Galchenyuk. |

let him play with Plekanecs and Gallagher and let Galchenyuk play with Radulov and Byron. If they want to move him around, do it on the special teams |

That list quickly:
LW: Benn, Gaudreau, Panarin, Ovechkin, Hall, Forsberg, PCAIORETTY, Eriksson, Marchand, Sedin
if we include RW: Kane, Wheeler, Tarasenko, Kucherov, Jagr, Okposo, Perry, Zuccarello, Stone, Simmonds

obviously the hate is over the top but the frustration is rational. especially now because we're seeing all of that secondary scoring dry up, as we expected. when Danault, Byron, and Mitchell were scoring at 30 goal paces it was OK that Pacioretty and Gallagher didn't score. now they need the offence from those 2. hopefully last night was a confidence booster for Max. |

I get that, but the odds are more on Pacioretty finding his game at some point during the season than him continuing on the path of sucking he's been on for 82 games. |

of course not. that's why i don't understand the "trade Pacioretty" sentiment. you need gamebreakers like that, a guy who can score out of nowehere at any given time. at his best that's what Pacioretty is. we already lost one in Subban, can't afford to lose another. |
