Bening said today he wants to lock up Bo long term - VANTEL
Hopefully something in the $4-4.8 million dollar range
Anything at or over $5 million is an overpayment |

Well some updates from Canuck prospects just looking at the forwards. We got BB RW 7g and 9a passed by center Gaudette in NCAA scoring with 7 goals and 10 assists. Add in High flying LW 6g so far freshman Lockwood and Canucks could have the college line try to make the team soon. Well at least there is some forward prospect hope out there. I would add C McKenzie 27 points so far too. But believe he's bound for Comets next season. He will need to prove scoring against men coming from junior probably. He might have better wheels then Guance too so maybe better for the middle? Well there is Guadette too would he slide into 3rd line after Bo and Sutter bump up?
So in a post Sedin Canuck roster what will we have with these prospects? Let's say which is very likely that there is no NHL ready draft pick from 2017 & 2018. Burr and Hansen traded for picks this season. Believe Sbisa taken by Vegas over DD if not traded then not renewed. Let's say the rebuild for draft picks continues to have LE waive NTC to leave by TDL next season to contender for draft picks.
Projected forward group Post Sedin era based on what's in system now.
Baertchi Bo JV
Granlund Sutter Rodin.
Lockwood Gaudette BB (college Line)
Guance McKenzie Labate
Why looking above it looks kind of weak in high end forward presence from propect pool. Like no likely 30 plus goal scorers among them. Would have to hope for a bunch of 20-30 spread out among top 9 and 10 plus for 4th line to compete.
Got BB in a Kessel like scoring role but he could be switched for JV. Yes younger team with young line up under 25 except for Sutter. Why without any free agents out there and using up last assets for trades for draft picks will be a less then moment. We need more forwards. Next two drafts may not be enough and so either more trades or free agent will pick up the lacking part above.
This draft looks ultra crucial to get a high end scoring forward. Is Patrick the best to offer? Is there anoher unknown Laine type that will rise up this year? Canuck fans need hope for high end scoring break out player. BB isn't enough and will probably need time to adjust to NHL game. |

Well who do you want then?
Looks like you're building quite the keeper team. In 5 years your team will be unreal.
Now you just got to convince everyone to make it a keep pool. |

Did you read the whole post analysis? This is what the Canucks have to work with given their top up and coming forward prospects and young forwards on the team in a post Sedin team. Why I ask is there any high end break out players in the next couple of drafts? All we got as the best right now is Patrick and he's not looked upon as that type, right? |

It's based on what the Canucks have not what I want. Did you actually read the comments? For example below that line up what was said was:

Not every draft pick this team makes is going to have a spot on this roster.
Brett Mckenzie I would be happy if he turned out to be a 3rd line center on our farm team.
Break Out Players don't show themselves till later.
Nolan Patrick and Nico Hischier
Andrei Svechnikov is suppose to be better than Malkin and is a clear cut elite offensive talent #1 in 2018

So if it's that bad guess you are saying Canucks need another set of even younger and new forwards starting with this draft.
So in this scenario you lay out that probably we will need an even newer top 6 which is likely measure to get into playoffs. Thus probably that will take 6 drafts for 2025 season. So at that point we'll need to replenish our existing young D too by then as they will be older in that scenario. So forget about Cup contention will take until 2030 with that need for another newer top 4 D plus a top 9 fill out.
Hope you are wrong about your assessment of talent to avoid above scenario. As rich and thorough as it was not the way I want to go.
Guess maybe Canucks need more then the slow draft rebuild. |

Those are the top leading prospect forwards 3 NCAA guy's plus 1 junior with existing young guys on team. It's what's left to fill in roster post vet purge as explained in post. I qualified McKenzie as Utica bound. You can sub a Utica grunt on the fourth line for him. Just going with what they got projecting up and given discussions of trading vets and post Sedin era. Why made point JB needs to land big time forward. |

No, once again your logic falls well short of Spock's. Add two really high end talents to any, that's any team's organizational depth and it changes their outlook in a hurry.
Don't give me any of this Edmonton stuff, If you're looking for the two talents they're McJesus and Draisaitl.
