Colorado is the worst city in the league to fly to on a back to back.

True enough, I could see a win tonight in a shootout and a loss tomorrow. |

To their credit, as long as they are only trailing by a goal or two, coming back is a possibility.
Last season, we didn't have much luck coming back.
I'm hoping Bo's line can keep rolling. - hillbillydeluxe
It is so much nicer to watch games where we're down 1 or 2 and know that it might not be over whereas last year it was a certainty and it felt stupid to continue watching |

Boeser was drafted though. It seems this player wasn't draft and then went into college. Stecher wasn't drafted in his first two years of college so he had to wait till his senior year which ended at age 22. Where as this player is in his second year of college and is already 22. I've never seen a college player signed in the middle of there 4 years of college that wasn't already drafted. - manvanfan
This might help.
Eligibility: Any North American player who turns 18 by September 15 and does not turn 20 by Decemeber 31 is eligible for the draft. Any non-North American player can be drafted at any age if they are at least 18 by September 15. If a player is 18, they must declare themselves eligible, but if a player turns 19 by September 15th, they are automatically eligible for selection in the draft.
Boeser was drafted between 18-2. Stecher went undrafted through those years but had he of left college early he could of signed as as free agent.
European players, regardless of their age, are eligible for the Entry Draft. That is to say, a European player who, if playing in North America, would otherwise be ineligible for the draft because of his age can opt into the Entry Draft. For example, a North American player of the age of thirty is ineligible for the draft while a European player of the same age is technically eligible.
A european player generally wouldn't opt in to be drafted at that age and can also sign a UFA contact like Panarin did last year is my understanding. I think as long as the european player is over 20 they can choose to sign as a FA or opt into the draft, but I don't see the point.
The player you mentioned likely can only be signed as a FA at this stage as he is playing in NA and couldn't opt into the draft at 22. He would have to forgo the rest of his college career though if he signed a professional contract.

So what happens when Larsen is healthy enough to return?
Will Beiga or Stecher be sent down? Will they try to send Larsen down ? Conditioning assignment?

This is a winnable game and really a winnable road trip with Dallas's poopty goaltending and Colorado struggling defensively #falsehope - LeftCoaster

My guess would be they're hoping Sbisa hits his game requirement before Larsen becomes a factor and then they can safely send Biega down, no biggie if he gets claimed. |

The most successful team in our history was primarily a result of the steady buildup of players thru the draft?
1999 - Henrik & Daniel
2001 - Bieksa
2003 - Kesler
2004 - Edler, Hansen & Schneider
2005 - Raymond
Thats six of the top ten scorers from 2011, seven if you include Burrows but I don't consider him a drafted player by the team. Also in 2012 that group includes seven of the top eight scorers.
Both of those years resulted in the glorious Presidents Trophy 🏆 and to a lesser extent a trip to the finals and a seven game series...it doesn't get any better than that sir!!! - LeftCoaster
I think you could even make the argument that Allen (4th OA in 98), White (25 OA in 06) contributed to adding both Luongo and Ehrhoff to that core.

Much like the other young losing teams I simply said I like the young group the Flames have drafted moving forward.
I can't wait until the Canucks have a good young core group in the NHL as opposed to just wishing and hoping on a prospect or three.
Teams like the Flames, Leafs and Buffalo might not be currently winning but at least their entertaining and they score goals. Injuries and holdouts have affected this, this year, however. |

Sorry are you saying that Stecher could not of signed as a FA had he of left early?
Danny DeKeyser from what I recall never finished college, he signed with Detroit halfway through his time there and was undrafted. |

You can leave college and sign a pro contract any time you want to, it's not a prison. Kyle Connor played one year and said (frank) it, I'm ready.

How many games did Sbisa need? it sounds like Larsen is pretty close to being on the active roster again.
I could care less if Larsen or Biega are waived at this point, the expansion requirements are overblown IMO.
If they send down Stecher I will be confused because he is clearly helping them be more competitive. |

I agree, which is why I was confused.....although he was drafted, which from what I can tell makes no difference. |
