Understand. The Sabres are trying to build a team to be contenders for years, not 1 year, so that takes time.

The Bills? Need to get a QB and the rest solves itself (to me).

The Bills offense is outscoring the 93, 94 and 95 Bills. They need a defense that can stop people and get turnovers. That all went out the when Rex came in.

As far as the Sabres scoring woes:

Do you have the talent? Yes

Are you healthy? Kinda

Puck Possesion? Check

Shots on goal: Check

Creating scoring chances: Check

The formula is there, the results are inexcusable. Too many guys squeezing the sticks too tight. Not enough chipping in from the blue line.

Name 10 better GM's and teams like NYR dont really count since players want to play their (and a duck can be running the team and they still want to play there). Like Vesey, he wanted to play there and Chris Drury had to seal the deal, not even the GM.

Out scoring the 90's bills is not impressive to me. The offense is still the issue due to time on the field. They go 3 and out or score in 1 minute and the defense is on the field too long, so late in the game we are in trouble.

Same old song and dance. Besides Eichel they need a killer that can put the puck in the net. Build some confidence. Another quality defenseman would be HUGE. Fedun shows promise. Gets the puck on net like Ghost Bear.

This is misleading. They are scoring points against the 49'ers, Jags, Rams, Cards. Had a good game against Seattle
They were held to 7 against Baltimore. We're shut down by the Dolphins, did nothing for 2 and half quarters against NE the 2nd game.

It's been inconsistent on both sides.

As far as the not scoring, it just seems like 2012 again. So much has been made of what this team and organization could be under TP, and the fans are totally on board and waiting. Talent is there but it looks like a fear of success.

for the bills, with this o line, if we did not have a running qb, we would have 3 less wins right now IMO (see bledsoe's last year here)

Reinhart, Neiderreiter, Strome, Dal Calle are all top 5 picks and are looking to be bust, bust, starting to turn bust, and can't make the Islanders line up after two years bust.

Wow, Gallant coaches the Panthers yesterday and then after the game he takes his suitcase and calls a cab. Pictures on TSN, pretty low.

They traded Reinhart for the 16th and 33rd pick in 2015 draft. Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier (with another trade too, sending two picks for pick 28). That was a smooth move, just not sure it will pay off just yet.

I like Barzal, I think he'll be good for them. There seems to be some complaints on the Island with Beauvillier. Either way, I see JT walking next year. They screwed up big time there. I hope Murray doesn't take us down the same road.

2. most of the Hockey World doesn't realize the Panthers success last season was partially, if not mostly, because of favorable results

This just gets back to the same business I have never understood. Points in the standings come from wins and ties - winning and ties require GOALS to be scored, not just shots to be taken.

Also, someone please define "favorable results" doesn't that mean they won games? If so, do we need math to analyze the second statement?
