he's not the coach we are looking for IMO
it was an over reaction after losing out to Babcock
I just hope he doesn't promote his uncle if/when dan gets canned - homiedclown
I still think it's too early to decide on Bylsma
He came out n said that we've dialed it back & been playing "defensively" bc of injuries to top offensive players & also to help the defense, which is missing 2 of the top4 as well
I'd bet with Eichel back, you'll see some change
I've already noticed it a little bit
There were a number of games this year when the 2nd line was
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta
U can't win games 4-3 with the lineup we were putting out there
We should be able to push play offensively A LOT more as we get healthy...
Let's see how we look after this season
A coaching move now doesn't make much sense to me
And next year, we should be adding even more offensive talent
Even if we can't get Taveres...
Nylander, Bailey & Fasching could all be regulars
And if Guhle is ready (I think he should play a year or 2 in Rochester though) he's the type of player that can help move the puck up the ice to help the offense as well
In some respects,
You can only coach so well with the players you have
All things considered...
I'm pretty ok with how things have gone so far
We're only 4pts out with all these injuries
And if you're gonna fault Bylsma for the lack of scoring,
You also have to credit him for how well Lehner and (especially) Nilsson have played to this point
Some of that is surely due to the style of play Bylsma has implemented to help them out

I think one gm goes this off season
just not sure if it's whaley or murray - homiedclown
I'd be surprised. T-Pegs seems to believe in the idea of continuity, plus he just gave GMTM an extension. If, and I think it's a big if, someone was to go it would be Disco. Just don't see him rocking the boat like that so quickly by removing a gm.
From a $$ perspective I think the personnel for the Bills have a longer leash because they still pull in the people. Lots of empty seats for the Sabres at the games I've been to. Granted, a lot of those tickets are sold but you're not going to keep selling them with this product. |

the big thing is
we didn't go through all this to be a 1 goal per game team
sometimes, the product on the ice looks much worse than the bankrupt years, and eichel is not going to change that
I could be wrong, but lately I have been falling asleep watching the games, which didn't happen when rr or tn was the coach

Even with all the injuries this season...
we are still right on pace to either just make the playoffs,
Or just miss
And imo, that's exactly where we should be |

tavares has another year under contract
I think if they stay the course, you break the bank for shat for next season
but we got big problems if it's same ole 12 months from now |

If Bylsma has lost the room then for sure there's an issue. But with the injury issues this team has had they still average more shots than the Rangers, Blackhawks, and Canadiens. I think this is more of a talent issue than coaching, which falls on Murray.
The biggest issue I had with Bylsma was the overtime philosophy and he changed it and they look world's better but they just can't score |

Does he?
I thought Taveres was up after this year for some reason
I like Shattenkirk, but idk if I love him enough to "break the bank"
He's good defensively, not great
He's good offensively, not great
He's definitely not a "#1" imo...
so we'd be paying A TON for a (low end?) #2 quality guy
I think his name value exceeds what he'd produce for us,
Especially at that HUGE cost
Plus he's RH, so he's not the ideal partner for Risto in that way as well
The Ducks are gonna have to trade a defenseman at some point still
If we don't wanna pony up for Fowler (which is fine, bc I think he's a #3), then maybe we can get a good young stay at home guy like Manson from them
That's they type player we should partner with Risto anyways
It'll free him up a little more to carry the puck up the ice,
Which be be another added help to the offense |

It seems a little outlandish....from a Washington perspective anyway. - Larsson_fan
Wasington called everyone back to the arena to announce a "big trade" then they ended up announcing Erat for Forsberg. Not exactly something to write home about. Everyone was confused. A) that they traded their new 1st round pick and B) that they traded him for Martin Erat. I'm not saying it was Miller for Ovechkin straight up, that would be ludicrous. But Ovie was in it somehow. Whether it was Miller a 1st and an "A" prospect or what, I'm not sure, but Darcy sent the fax in late. The Spezza deal that Uncle Bryan backed out on never made it to the national media, and that was when Spezza was a world class player still. And that no-deal is un-officially official at this point. |

So the headline Eklund rumor of RNH and Islanders, so should we get in the discussion? I would not mind RNH here. What's with Oilers trading everyone? I mean they are just an ok hockey club with a world class player. So why trade great players from your team? Injury concern? |

I wanted it to be Ovechkin, but that was dream world. Maybe one day we will find out, but more likely Miller for Forsberg and something. Who knows?

Everytime I read something on here people think that the Vegas team is just going to take the players that we don't want, it's not gonna happen like that. " Oh Bogo just dump him on Vegas, Oh Ennis just let Vegas have him, Moulson, just hope Vegas gets him ETC, ETC " . Get a clue people. - SABRES 89
Idk who u think they're going to get?
The Sabres get to protect 6 forwards, so...
They'll basically have a choice between Moulson and then maybe Girgensons is the other decent guy we leave unprotected (maybe Ennis?)
Or Gorges on the backend
I actually wouldn't be surprised if they take Carrier
They have to pick 30 guys...
which means they have to send down 7-8 to the AHL
So in a situation like with Buffalo...
would they prefer an aging Moulson or Gorges?
Or a 3rd/4th liner they can't send down like Girgensons? (He'd get claimed)
With those not so stellar options,
They might rather have a guy who still has some upside & is young enough they can still stash in the AHL

That's the way I remember that deadline going down as well
I think the word on the street was Miller + Stafford for Ovechkin
What was the Spezza deal?
I'm drawing a blank on that one |

RNH is super underrated imo
He's turned into a pretty solid defensive center,
and he still scores at a good pace
Idk what they'd want for him
But based on what they took back for Hall,
I'd at least call & find out |

I'm not sure the exact deal for Spezza, but it was at the draft and the deal was all but official and then Uncle Bryan backed out at the last minute and then Spezza got shipped to Dallas the next year. |

So all this Washington talk, this should be looked at from us like this:
Stay the course. They almost traded for Miller but instead have one of the best goalies in the league this year and last. They almost traded a top player (Reinhart) and would have been laughed at for years. The Forsberg (Nylander) trade, if they did not do that imagine what he would be doing for them right now?
Just stay the course, our time will come. |

I agree we would not do that for RNH, maybe they ask for something else? Doubt it's something like Kane+.
But I want in on all these bad Oilers trades, lol |

He's good, but at the time I remember being ok with not getting him
Probably bc I hate the Sens so much though
Dallas is struggling bad this year
Their goaltending is so brutal...
I wonder if they'd be interested in Nilsson with how well he's played?
Can't imagine we'd get a ton,
but maybe we could package him & get back something decent |

its nonsense
has no logic it to it for so many reasons. i enjoy the site and the banter, but ek is the garth of hockey rumors
nuge wont be traded in any realistic deal.
hes super important to the oilers.
if they get to a point where puljujarvi and draisaitl are dominant on a nightly basis, you might see nuge or ebs on the block going forward. but not now |
