Read article Sedins say teams play more defensive now then when they broke into the league. They say it's harder to score now. Teams are not giving up odd man rushes and are always thinking defense; even when on the attack. It's a five man unit to break up plays so the cycle is thwarted. The Sedins have made adjustments like using their own D, but is that enough?
My take is they realize what it really takes to score now. That it's all about high end speed and quick skill to overcome the defensive envelope. Wonder if they are thinking retirement may come sooner then later. |

I would really like to see the Sedin's split up. Not for forever but even a period here or there. They both lack speed, ability to drive the net. |

Edler and Tanev need to go because they simply can't stay healthy. |

I wish people would stop using Tanev's play in the World Championship as some type of measuring stick for his play in the NHL. He's a good d-man who is replaceable.
If Tanev’s traded I don’t think he will be missed that much.

Had this argument yesterday with some that they think Tanev is a top 5 Defensive D in the league. Wouldn't go that far. Maybe top 10 in defensive defensemen. He has good corsi numbers but what he brings really isn't what this team needs. |

Good asset management would dictate the smart move is trading him while his value is there and the team is a non-playoff team....so I expect Benning to keep him |

Exactly. He's a great depth d-man who plays above his skill set. Love to have him on my team as long as I'm not relying on him to be my impact player.
This team needs players who can influence the outcome of the game. Not just play their position adequately.

Good Morning you SOB's |
|
|
|
I know ownership wants to make the playoffs but for the best off the team they should start moving assets out.
I do know our team will suck .
Tanev now for top 6 forward
Burrows and Hansen to MTL at TDL for 2017 first 2018 third.
Miller to a contender for a second
Edler for a first.
That leaves you
Hutton Gudbrandson
Tryamkin Stecher
Sbisa Larssen
Expose Larsen in the draft. Extend him one year |

Hutton and Guddy vs other teams 1st lines is a scary thought though. I totally get what you are saying, but management would NEVER entertain a rebuild like this.

I know.
It is more what the fans want. You could pick up a reliable UFA Dman in the summer |
