What I don't get is if Hamilton is a big, young, 1st round, right handed shooting Dman on a good contract, why would Calgary trade him? - Zezel
Burke wants to replicate the Luke Schenn deal before Hamilton becomes Schenn |

This is my concern. Doing a bad trade with Burkie off all people would be too Leafy. |

Their offense is non existent. Especially with Johnny hockey gone right now.
If you look at thier top six it consists of Versteeg, Backlund, Brouer, Monahan, Tkchuck and Frolik.

Because they can't score...lost Gaudreau and have Gio and TJ. I'm pretty sure they would want more for Hamilton than what the Leafs will part with.

Hard to say. He went for a mid first and 2 seconds when he went to the Flames.
Would the Leafs not be willing to offer that same value? Or possibly more ?
They defenitivly would be willing to throw in some 2nds. They have a few extra. Just got to work on the main piece going back which would be in the value of a 10-15 1st round pick. |

Would you guys trade the Leafs' first rounder for Hamilton? A lottery protected first. So let's say hypothetically, we can see into the future and the Leafs are drafting, say, between 5-10. Would you trade that pick for Hamilton? |

No one named Kadri/Matthews/Nylander/Marner/Rielly/Zaitsev/Gardiner/Carrick/JVR/Sosh/Brown and I'm ok with it. |

I would but first I'd like a projection on how many 2nd and 3rd rounders we could get from trading down in the draft. |

I sat down to watch it....( cheering for Ottawa) with only 2:30 left in the 4th and Ottawa up by 10....I pretty much brought my Leaf luck to the game.
But they pulled it out in OT. |

I think the Flames need someone who can play forward now back in the trade.

I'm not too impressed with this draft so yes.
I'm thinking 2017 2nd, Holland and then the main piece. JVR? A big prospect? Leafs 1st?
And then some other small throw ins for either team. |

No. I think it would be the likes of Leivo and Corrado going the other way for Hamilton. |

The Flames are a good trading partner. Team in the west, needs offense, Burke
I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames are interested in Carick as well in a potential deal. |

Makes sense....and I guess the Leafs may want to clear out a forward body too... |

Sosh looks ready for a scoring role.
Kap and Liepsic may be knocking on that door eventually as well. |

I really hope do upgrade defense but soshnikov I don't want to see traded. What did Calgary give up when they got Hamilton? No more leaf interest for shattenkirk then--- |

I agree. I think he's an NHL defensmen. Wether he is a 4 or a 5-6 is the question.
