Pretty sure any trade talks with Calgary involve Kadri ..
Kadri and a 2nd for Wideman.. |
|
|
|
Holland and a 4th rd pick for a 7th rd pick.. |
|
|
|
Good deal..

Mike, you wrote that Lou is reportedly looking for a shutdown defender, then went on to name Dougie Hamilton? |

I remember watching Hamilton for the Bruins. He looked pretty (frank)ing good at 20. But how much has he really improved ? Just trying to gage his trade value.
Maybe we can package some prospects along with Bozak to get Hamilton. Some good prospects obviously.
I mean he was traded for a mid 1st round pick and two seconds right ? |

I think out of the 2, Lou would want the younger player in Hamilton. Lou isnt stupid here, we have enough issues with the refs with Kadri I doubt we would want Wideman and that added baggage.
Question is for what though?!
Cant see itbeing Kadri. More likely JVR plus say Leivo or Holland?! |

I think Calgary wouldn't be crazy to ask for JVR.
But if we are trading JVR we can do much better IMO |

I love how Naz had Ovi in his back pocket for pretty much the entire game along with scoring a beaut of a breakaway, and yet the only thing mentioned is that "he scored the insurance goal"... |

I dunno there. Lets remember most teams are hunting for defence and not going to really want to lose a younger one. Trouba and Hamilton are a bit odd to see out there, and dont know if Trouba really is available anymore.
Calgary needs some scoring so it makes a bit of sense at least with jvr but...
Going to be interesting. |

Calgary is one of the worst defensive teams, so why would they trade a supposedly great two-way defender, who's young and sign for 4+ years? No body finds that strange? |

A little, but he's meant to have that effect on the opposition, not our own (frank)ing fans!!! |

Maybe they have interest in one of the leafs prospects in filling that need(Kap, Liepsic, Sosh, Ect)
I just think Marner and JVR are working very well together right now. I don't really want to mess that up. |

They've been struggling all over from in net to defence to offence. Think they might be thinking if Johnson can keep hot, we pick up some offence up front that could spark the kids going again, they right the ship. With a surplus of defence they see a chance to move one for this. |
