Skjei, Load up that top pair and ride them till you can bring in another Dman to balance things out better. - mrn22
problem is, are people willing to give up what it would take to trade for a better d-man than they already have |

Meh, Skjei looks average on his off side. Looks fantastic on the left. I really think the only right answer is to wait for Shattenkirk as a UFA or trade(which no one wants). Think people have to accept the D as is, with Clendening filling in once in a blue moon. - mdw7413
we've barely seen him play with Mcdonagh.. like not much at all |

Theres lots of options out there to improve on what we have currently without adding a true 1st pairing guy. |

Also, when we say Girardi hasnt been that bad..
You are not going to see any better from him than what were getting. Literally theres nowhere to go but down as far as injuries and getting worn out playing 1st pair mins |

True, not with McDonagh, but we have seen him on the right side. Just my opinion but he definitely does not look nearly as comfortable on the right side as the left.
Even if we move Skjei to the right side, You want Girardi and Staal. Klein with Clendening/Holden |

Vigneault says J.T. Miller is now 90-10 probable to play tonight, so looking good. Michael Grabner is under the weather and questionable. |

Great on Miller that woulda been a big hole. Grabner will probably sit this game out if JT is good to go I would imagine |

they just gotta get 2 points out of this one somehow. I don't care about possession stats, or how pretty it looks. Hard to believe home ice has been a struggle of late. |

well, if they get seemingly dominated and squeak out a win its cause for concern. I know the points are important but this 2-3-1 in the last six while looking lousy should be red flags |

That's a shame. Only way this talk of a struggling 15-7-1 team ends. |

I'm going to take a level headed approach and chalk it up to the ebbs and flows of the season, hot streaks and cold streaks. It will all balance out.

A little. The game against Ottawa doesn't concern me. The 6-1 drubbing at the Hands of the Pens did. |

im chalking alot of it up to Buch and Zib being out and the lines not clicking like they did earlier with them in the linup, but if you are not concerned about this defense moving forward then |

Missing those 2 guys is big, but AV has to adapt. Buch and Zibby aren't the linchpins that propel the Rangers. Somebody has to pick it up. |

Kreider has been real quiet since the injury. Needs to pick it up a bit |

Agreed. I was at the Ottawa game, no adjustment was made on the breakout and entry into the offensive zone. It was mind numbing. Klein made a bad play on the first goal, the second was a bounce of the ref, but besides that they didn't give up much. The offense couldn't generate much outside of a few good chances.
As a coach you need to have a flexible team that can adjust to another teams defense, otherwise you look like they looked vs Ottawa.... lost and confused |

He, Nash and Lundqvist would bring back good returns. Just sayin.... |
