Again it is under the premise Vasey takes over the #1 spot. We get a worse goalie, yes but it is a backup who is capable, not as capable as Bishop, but capable every 4 or 5 games. We get better at the back end by adding Wideman and we may get worse up front, not sure who they put there to replace Johnson. Will it happen? No most likely it would not, 99.9% sure it is not happening. It's not all that bad of a trade in my opinion but I also am not even close to as high on Johnson as a lot of people so there is bias there.

Nice of you to ignore the Vegas stuff....it's tough being wrong sometimes but it's ok, you can do it!

Wideman is subtraction by addition. I understand that you don't understand.

A career 0.5 point per game right D man who plays 20 minutes a night is what we're missing. Is he a franchise D man now, no he is not. Will he put up 50 points? No he won't. We need to be harder to play against in our own zone and he will add that to the team. We are giving up almost 3 goals per game as a team, a lot more lately. Stralman out hurts of course. I just don't see Wideman, for one season, as a bad choice to help with a deep playoff run.

Every team can talk to free agents on june 23rd. Still think its a good idea of LV to waste one of the better picks in the draft for three extra days of negotiations?

You clearly don't watch Calgary play. Wideman is a tire fire.

I do yes. It's a business and one of the top assets is available. Do you take any extra time you get to negotiate on their own with no competition or do you wait until your competition can also come and try to take that top asset? It's not a waste of a pick because, and I could be wrong but I think I read this, if they select Bishop and he does NOT sign with them in the extra days Vegas gets to negotiate they then don't have to have Bishop as their selection from the Lightning but can change that. If I am running a business I don't want to negotiate with a person and against my competition, I want to negotiate just with that person alone.

And yes you're correct, I have not seen one Calgary game this season so could be very far off.

Johnson is not getting traded. Bank on that.

Interesting...why? Point is a center that can replace him I think pretty easily.

I agree that one of Johnson and Filpulla will be going over the offseason. There's forwards in the minors that need to start seeing ice time in the nhl by the end of the season IMO. And Bishop will be leaving by the time Free Agency comes around. And Wideman does fit the idea of a right handed shot offensive defenseman that may be able to help on the powerplay. I personally think he could be a useful addition, though we may need to move a defenseman out in order to fit him in. And given Stamkos's injury we should have plenty of cap space to make the addition. It would be ideal if we could possibly swap Bishop + somebody for Elliot + Wideman, though my understanding is that Calgary needs forwards. So who on our active roster could we add to consider a deal like that?

Wow... I missed alot, most action this board has seen in a while. I think the Bolts need to acquire a RH top 4 dman but I have no idea who that guy will be.

After this game tonight the Lightning better figure out the D-zone and soon. Don't care which goalie is in net they are being left out to dry as the team is not doing them any favors.

Second can we just cut Nesterov... I do not know what they see in him other then he will shoot if on the PP. His turnovers and horrible d play just kills the team. He is unwatchable for me, I would rather see Koekkoek playing and learning giving up the occasional mistake then Nesterov making another bone headed play.

Team is too good to lose 4 straight, hopefully they get the problems figured out.
