Even with Edler in the lineup we were on course for .500.
I love the fact that we are getting away for him to see what we have. I Love the sink or swim experience they are going to encounter. This is a perfect year to experiment. - VANTEL

Those Centers will probably go at a higher position in the draft. I was reading an article on Hischier and it said he would have gone somewhere between 15-20 in last years draft. Sorry don't remember where I read it. - manvanfan
This is impossible to gauge. nobody can know how he will develop for the rest of the season. How he may improve. If at his current skill he would have been THAT high with people 1+ year older, then he is better than you think. |

That's fair. I think it will be up and down (the young guys will be inconsistent, but fun) so in that sense I agree. I've been on board with trading Edler for a long while, as I think drafting in the top-5 is good for us. This could be the final days of WD if it's sink, Gallant looks like a good replacement!

We are deeper and healthier this season...at this point.

YEah. Why I think management may put more vets now injured on the trade block by TDL if newbies can play adequately. |

I look at this injury as a win win.
If we suck and get blown out we get a top pick.
If we find Life Without Edler is doable then we can move him.

There are still some solid centers avail in the top 5 that are looking better than Jost. - Retinalz
has to be a major focus this year, draft or otherwise. Jost? we'll see on that pick. |

So scouts and other people did all that work last year scouting and drafting players. They are now doing the same thing with the new draft class. Comparing wher Hischier is right now to comparable players from the previous season. Lol and you called me special |

Still not a valid comparison. How many players picked in the top 10 last draft were considered a top 10 pick this time last year? Dubois was not considered a top 5 pick, Juolevi wasn't considered top 10 until after WCJ if i remember correctly. The fact that he is considered a top 15-20 prospect based on tracking from last year, means he could end a top 5 prospect from last year. |

Yeah. Probably after World Junior tournament. But then we might become aware of other gems in the tournament. Is there a Laine type who might come to light? - Nuck4U
Rasmussan?Popugayev?
Nico Hischier has an insane amount of points for Halifax... 45 points in 26 games, 22 goals... 6'1" 180lbs. Most have him ranked around 20 but McKeens has him #1 now

They also brought back Hamhuis Higgins and a bunch of other sad sacks.
As much as Scooby hates Chaput , him and Megna have not looked bad. We also had Vrbata who packed it in. There was so much going wrong last year. It won't be as bad this time around - VANTEL
There's no other way to explain it. He wore it on his sleeve too... |

Popugayev has serious moves but carries a piano around on the ice with him.

Lefty is losing to Don in the hockey pool. That's hilarious seeing he bugged Don all last week for losing to me .
His team is terrible |

Timothy Liljegren. He's most of the things Juolevi isn't and will compliment his style. Building from the back end has never been this franchises priority... I'm hoping JB continues to focus on the center and D positions, I know most people want offensive impact now but we wont see that out of this draft. We will see it from slow steady process of building. - neem55
Liljegren seems like a total wildcard . Could go top 5 or plummet |

2nd overall. Pre-season. Still may be the best of the bunch, only one in the NHL this year. |

I've heard of them. Like to see what they can do in bigger roles at World juniors. |

I remember him being ranked that. Not sure why. I was really surprised that he fell so far last season but he is proving some wrong this year. When Bob does his rankings he talks to scouts and goes off of who he feels is the best player at that time. That's why he ranks players instead of guessing every teams needs. |

Those are the ones I am keeping an eye on is year.. So far Popuguaev has impressed Haven't seen much of Rasmussen yet.
Also been following Nick Hague since last season. He is impressive defenseman. |
