In six drafts Gillis put ten players in at least one NHL game, of those ten only three are actively still playing in the NHL. In 2014 Benning put four players, Virtanen, McCann, Forsling & Tryamkin, in the league for at least a few games....think about that for a second!!
That's how bad our drafting has been. There should be a MINIMUM of six players playing from the Gillis draft years playing. Which is only one per year....pathetic.
And just for clarification Marwood, that's not hysterical posting, it's just translating, through words, what I'm reading for the sake of conversation |

I am surprised you remembered what was said this summer , you usually forget things after half an hour.

I don't remember or care. I just recall it being the running joke that as soon as someone played well they traded them. I seem to recall they traded 2 goalies on win streaks? - prock
Way to support your statement. |

I disagree. You used uppercase so it's clearly hysterical, non-playoff posting |

Numbers don't lie. Pretty clear. But at least he made it up a bit with Bo and Hutton. Two core players for rebuild. |

No argument that the drafting hasn't been good but you know as well as me that none of those players that Benning have drafted would of played as early as they have if they had been drafted when the team was as good as it was.
Also just for clarity's sake it is 13 players in 6 drafts who have played at least 1 game and 7 who have played a game this year in the NHL. |

Your argument goes both ways. Shink, Gaunce etc. wouldn't have played on a good team as well. |

Sure and I'm not trying to say the drafting as been good. Just that Lefty's wrong |

I heard them talking on the radio today about moving Bo up to the first unit PP. I think that would be a mistake. I think Bo on the first unit would be standing around watching Hank and Danny pass the puck back and forth.
I do think Bo should be on the first unit but I don't think the twins should be there anymore. |

The point being, despite some clerical errors, drafting is definitely looking more promising. And just in time I might ad, given that we're entering a period of quality draft positions. |

I like Bo on the 1st unit. The PP needs somebody with the ability to gain the zone with control. Horvat is the strongest off the rush. The old drop pass followed by a 20 foot pass to a Sedin standing still at the blueline is.....a bit stale. |

How would everyone feel about a trade of
Tanev + JV + CBJ 2nd(or Subban + 3rd/4th) for Kane + Reinhart? |

I don't think its realistic because Buffalo isn't trading Reinhart. |

I think Kane is a dead horse when it comes to the Canucks. |

There was a Canucks poster just before the season started, who was convinced the Nucks were a playoff team, and last year was just a blip due to injuries.
Anyone remember who that was? - prock
Do you play with matches much?
The general consensus minus the sarcasm was that this team was a bubble team at best for playoffs and a lottery team in the bottom at worst. Just not the graveyard 65 point prediction. Margin of error is thin if injuries occur and players slump. Both have happened. Bubble not likely now even being 3 points out. |

I would be pretty happy with it. Reinhart looks pretty good, maybe doesn't have the footspeed to play up the middle, but would be a nice piece on the wing to play with Bo going forward. Kane is coming off of a 20 goal season, he's a reach with the contract but he's young enough to try. I think Tanev is more sure-fire than Kane to be productive (risk/reward), not sure the pick would be necessary at all if Subban was in the trade. |

Mixed...I think we should move on from Kane and trade a D for a quality forward prospect and a draft pick |

Like I said I like Bo on the first unit ,I don't like the Twins and Edler on the first unit.
It is just time to give more responsibility to young guys like Stecher Bo Hutton Granlund |
