Attendance is taken until 9am. So you are good.
MacDonald wasn't actually that bad last night, though I was surprised he was on the ice for the OT.
I watched some of the Phantoms game last night and I can't wait to see Morin get a chance at the NHL level at some point later in the season.Plays well on PK and never hurts to have another physical Dman. - 3flyerkids
MacDonald was ok. His failed cleared attempt did lead to the Bruins first goal, but I guess that is nit picking.
You would think Morin makes the roster out of camp next year. |

Observations from last night:
Mason was simply outstanding. What more needs to be said?
Provorov had one bad giveaway in the 1st, but other than that he played another solid game.
The rest of the D not so much, especially in the D zone. It's just ugly right now.
Glad to see G score, however he really does not look like he's moving very well out there, and I wonder if he's nursing an undisclosed injury?
Overall the team played like crap, they can and need to play better. You can't expect your goalie to make 45 saves and stop 8 of 9 shootout attempts on a nightly basis.
Someone needs to sit Hak down and explain to him how best to use his timeout. They were really scrambling after the 1st Bruin goal and a timeout should have been called at the next stoppage of play. |

As good as Mason was last night, he let up two third period goals which allowed Boston back in it. That cant happen. |

Bottom line is MacDonald played well last night, and was one of the better players for the Flyers. - MJL
Really? I don't think anyone other than Mason truly played well. They were dominated for many long stretches, out worked along the wall, gave up way too many good scoring chances and completely fell apart for a while after the Bruin's first goal. While AMac was no worse than most and better than a few, he in no way played "well", borderline adequate would be a better description of his play. |

Yes, because those goals were soley Mason's fault and obviously every other NHL goalie would have stopped them.

Provorov didn't get much help from his linemates last night, but he didn't have a very strong game. The shot attempts last night when Provorov as on the ice were 20 for Boston, and 5 for the Flyers. That pairing took the brunt of the Bruins attack.
On the first Boston goal, which was a 4 on 4 goal, MacDonald reached out to deflect a cross ice pass, and the puck went to Krejci. It was Vandevelde who lost the coverage on Krejci. Coverage on 4 on 4 is man to man.

MacDonald is what is. Nothing great, not exciting, for which we over paid dearly.
I would think Morin is a lock next year to make this team. Be shocked if he doesn't get time this year.

Yes, really, MacDonald played well last night. This is just more proof of the lack of objectivity. Further reinforced by your statement that Provorov had a solid game, when he really had a rough night, along with many others. He is 19 though, and a rookie.

Agree.
Actually the MacDonald/Gostisbehere pairing was only minus pairing last night. Gudas had a rough night. But really no one other than Mason played really well. Konecny had a tough night. Think he had a Charlie horse that might have contribute to that. If I had to pick a player who was actually solid other than Mason it might have been Lyubimov. Was very noticeable again with his speed and tenacity each shift. |

They gave Konecny an assist on the the MDZ goal and it was very generous. Simmonds lost the puck but got it back very quickly. |

The situation begged for a timeout to be called after the Bruins tied the game. Coaching 101. |

What is coverage supposed to be when you're up a man? Back into the goaltender until the puck goes in your own net?
Funny you talk about objectivity. He isn't as bad as most people say he is, but he isnt nearly as good as you say he is |

Criticize Mason all you want in regards to last night's game, you're just making yourself look silly.

Anyone know how Hagg has faired thus far down in the farm? Just curios if he continued the good play from the end of last year, or if he's gone back to how he played in the beginning of last year. Anyone thinking if G is hurt, it's from that weird injury from the word cup? |

Rewatching the highlights and man did that shootout celebration by Mason get me pumped up. Haven't seen Mason look that spirited in some time. Certainly a confidence booster and hope this gets a streak going. |
