Yes, because those goals were soley Mason's fault and obviously every other NHL goalie would have stopped them.
- BiggE
Right, and there wasn't heavy traffic on the first and MDZ defended Marchand ever so well on the tying goal.
The reality: Mason would have had a shutout last night with even an iota of defensive help... and he flirted with one anyway. |

Bad Goalie Steve Mason won those two points.
I thought for sure it would end up in a SOL. The last shootout he was good as well and of course the shooters couldn't do poop. Important win after almost choking away another 3 period lead. Phew

I really don't think I ever expected to see a SC2 post match gif from team MVP on here... but I prefer CJ Entus or SKT T1 |

I know I'll probably get told I'm wrong but on the one huge save that was a scramble where it looked like Mase made the slide across telescopic pad save. Did Provorov get that with his glove? Sure looked like it on the big board in the arena. My section was going nuts when we thought Provorov got that one. No matter what that was a HUGE stop. |

We would have done much better if we weren't stuck with Bad Goalie Steve Mason and Fraud Giroux last night. |

I know the picture is the future but how long do these defenseman continue to play? Right now the only defenseman I feel good with on the ice are Manning, Gudas, Provorov and Gostisbehere(most of the time)
Edit: And Del Zotto mostly.
It kills me when I see Streit, MacDonald and Schultz. |

The criticism of Mason and Neuvirth early in the season was completely justified. However, if you can't see that Mason is now playing very well, you may want to schedule an eye exam. Also, if you thought Mason was anything short of spectacular last night, you may want to consult a proctologist because you need someone to help you remove your head from your ass.

Next year you will start to see the defense be revamped. Streit, Schultz, and Del Zotto will all be gone. |

Yay!
Now if we could just convince AMac to take a nice long late night cruise with Dave Brown, all our D problems would be solved.

I understand.
I mean if this team is on the bubble or out of a playoff spot I fully think they should move Streit, Del Zotto or even Schultz if they can get good offers to help the team now or in the future.

if Mason was 2016-2017 Flyers goalie average last night, Boston would've won 6-2 #stats #fancy #BGSM |

What is coverage supposed to be when you're up a man? Back into the goaltender until the puck goes in your own net?
Funny you talk about objectivity. He isn't as bad as most people say he is, but he isnt nearly as good as you say he is - YuenglingJagr
My opinion on what MacDonald is, is accurate. Perhaps you think I think he is better than he is. I use no bias in my analysis of any player, or any play. As an example, earlier this season, I called for MacDonald to be taken out of the lineup, due to his deteriorating play in a game. |

Exactly. I mistakenly called the Krejci goal a 4 on 4 goal earlier. Actually on that play, it was 5 Flyers on 4 Bruins, and they still left Krejci uncovered in the slot. |
