I dont know where you got doomed season from my post. All i said was its a good measuring stick and improvements need to be made. Thats something most of us can agree on.
They got outshot and outchanced for most of the game, they're not going to win a lot of games that way. And as for Bogo and Kulikov, they're not going to change the complexion of the defence the way Eichel did for the forwards. The defence was a problem when they were in the lineup too. They're not youngsters who need time, they are who they are. - Sabresfan-365
problem is, we may need 2 d men for top 4 - homiedclown
It wont be overly difficult for them to find the 2nd top 4 d-man. If you added shattenkirk to risto and mccabe the fourth guy doesnt have to be a monster trade or signing.

I dont care that the word doesnt fit the sentence, best i could come up with on the sopt and the point is still fairly obvious - Sabresfan-365
What point? That they aren't the perfect defense? Can we get past that?
Cant it be ok if they're just good enough to win games? Wouldn't it be great if some of us are right and the Sabres can average 1.15 points in the standings per game played for the rest of the season - just a little better than they've done so far with all the injuries and missed games to key players - so that they would be playoff contenders?
Why can't that happen? Why can't more of us look forward to that, instead of looking forward to mathematical formulations of doom?

that is 2 holes in the top 4 - homiedclown
i really wish some of our secondary scoring, ya know, scored. i think lots of reasonable people looked at our d before the season started and said "bogosian and kulikov will both miss chunks of time". we need another 3/4 guy regardless of what happens, we dont have much to go get one. market sucks.

Sports club stats says around 94 points to get in.
Buffalo would have to win roughly 31 games in 60. Do you think they could go 31-19-10 over the next 60 (1.2 points per game)

No, that even when healthy they are mediocre at best. I dont want them to just be a hang around 9th/10th place and hope you luck into a playoff spot. That's essentially what we'd be betting on with this current group. I want them in so that it helps set them up for a real run next year in eichel and reinharts last elc years. And I think if management is honest with themselves about the current group they have they could make them moves to put this team in a better spot as early as this year. Based on what ive read I'm HOPEFUL that they are.
