I want him gone...I really don't think his "system" is conducive to maximizing our young talent...

Jack is the reason we won last night...not anything Dan did (anyone else notice after we went up 3-1 we backed off and played like poop the whole second period)

He shouldn't get a pass by simply allowing Jack to be back on the ice.

Don't get me wrong...I was grinning from ear to ear when the final horn sounded...but we can't let one game blind us to the issues this team has:

- No D partner for Risto
- No Sniper on the Left wing
- A Starting goalie who is looking more and more injury prone
- A coach who prioritizes his system over finding ways to maximize player's abilities

I think last night showed that Bylsma's "system" is designed to have Eichel in the lineup.

The notion of backing off is overstated. When a team is down by multiple goals, they also change their system. The Sabres didn't look like a team that laid back last night. They looked like a defensively weak team that got a lead, their opponent responded, and they still found a way to win, which is what most of us expected all season.

The guy is a warrior. I think at his age he shouldn't be anywhere near the top 4. The next major improvement that I think we'll see is when (if?) Gorges replaces Franson on the last pair (Not that I'm shot in the rear with Kulikov)

They still need outside help as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately, there really isn't any asset we can trade to get a top 4 D guy right now.

I don't agree with the blame you're placing on Dan. He's no world beater that's for sure. But try to see it by this angle

-Without Jack, you've got one scoring line. A space maker (Foligno, Carrier), ROR, Opo. You've got a 2nd line with (frank)ing Larsson centering it. Cool. Reinhart needs Jack right now, and Kane. Kanes. The line is weak. Teams can easily focus on line one and brush off 2-4. That's why even strength and scoring in general dried up. Focus on the only line that can actually hurt you. Insert Jack, you've got two real lines. The matching is much harder for teams. Plus, you've got a fantastic checking line with Foligno Larsson Gionta who can now play against weaker competition and be your best defensive line while chipping in a little offense.

-Defense without your 2nd pair leaves you with a possession black hole (Gorges), Slow-Mo Franson, and AHL Falk. You don't have enough puck moving guys to support an average offense such as the one without Eichel.

-Ennis and Girgs have struggled mightily without playing shinny hockey. It's unfortunate and I hope Enzo comes back healthy and can produce. I won't start blaming Disco because of the personnel on this team. We have enough here to push for the playoffs, healthy. Without a revamped defense, this team won't get anywhere. Of course, it's much easier to say it than do it. Hopefully this summer and during the draft, we pick up some quality defense.
