I couldn't understand the agent saying he needed a liver for transplant desperately when he was suffering from dementia. Having gone through the dementia/Alzheimer's path with both parents, life prolonging isn't really the issue. It's keeping them comfortable. Am I horrible for thinking that would have been a wasted transplant that should have gone to someone capable of managing their own aftercare?

I hope it's legal by the time I get my Alzheimer's diagnosis. It almost doesn't seem worth it to try to be healthy for longevity if that is what likely awaits.

No and it's incredibly expensive as well. Cancer treatments for patients who are months from dying is also another big one.

In most cases, it doesn't prolong the patient's life and worsens their quality of life

Always respected you as an official and as a straight shooter. While I agree for the most part, you and I are part of the last generation of integrity. Far too often, I’ve seen “younger” officials make themselves part of the game, lack the people skills to develop a raport with the players, lack the respect for the games traditions, and let their own biases affect some of the calls. This akin to the judicial activists we now have as judges. The times have changed.....and not for the better......sad to say.
