Lemieux is for sure someone Eichel's skating has been compared to. They don't really glide over the ice, but instead push through it. It's a long powerful stride. Makes them look like they're not really moving that fast. Very, very deceptive. Completely different skating style than someone like McDavid.

I thought Briere was that way as a sabre, seemed to slow down a bit later on with injuries

I never viewed him as fast, but in a sneaky way he was

the joy as a kid having a birthday jan. 3rd

"oh we spent a little extra on your gift for x mas and your birthday"
as I watch my cousin open the exact same gift

My sister's birthday is Jan 2nd, so I've definitely seen how that happens. Mine's not til Feb, so that wasn't an issue for me for the most part. However, my one grandma always forgot my birthday. There was one year she actually remembered (called me a day early in fact). She passed away a month and a half later.

Too old. Will never score 20 again

Never, not to mention he kills penalties and plays an all around extremely good game

I just wish mine was in the summer so the weather was better. I always say I should just celebrate my 1/2 birthday instead, since that would be in August.

I wonder if Vanek would have played his entire career here if he killed penalties

My concern with Nash is just his contract. I figured he'd have a better year this year (injuries really were the issue last year). But at some point, he's going to drop off and not be worth what he's getting paid. We certainly didn't need another contract like that on our books.

If he played like Nash without the puck we wouldn't have Eichel

Stay the course for now. As awesome as last night was, let's keep in perspective that we got another center ice goal, and the GW goal was an intended pass off a skate.

Eichel wont score 60, and we still need help on D.

Last thing we should do is add a rental. If it's a young core player, that's different

Hope.

EDIT: More of it, actually.

Think about it...

If Vanek was as good as Nash is without the puck he would still be here, so would Miller most likely.

The make up of this team would look extremely different

So, if we are close to being a playoff team, do we become buyers at the deadline? Or, preferably for me, become sellers and stay the course? I don't want to hurt our future and continued growth just because everyone is jonesing to get back to the playoffs and I think it would be ideal to unload some of our UFAs or older guys with only a year left to ensure we are not only good, but great for many years.
- adambuffalo

So I think we are buyers and sellers. I think Murray will make some moves, trading away guys he does not have interest in resigning, names like Girgensons, Larsson, Franson, Folingo (maybe, if deal is right) to get players that might be in last year but he does want to resign. I do think that Gionta will stay and we might even sign him to another 1 year deal, just dont let him be captain next year, Mr. Eichel needs to have that with how much he energizes the team.

I do think we are buyers too, but not pure rental players.

I want Murray to look at Saad and a top 4 D man.

I'd like them to make the playoff just so they get the experience of playing in it... even if it just 3 games and done.... could mean a lot down the road.

Whatever happened to that supposed "narrowing of the spinal column" disease that the Cookie Monster supposedly had? Remember that old roomer?

There is a ring on his finger, Roy would never wear one out in public

But at first glance I thought it was too!
