I think competing for one next year should be the expectation.

A player of Eichel's caliber will be in his prime. Reinhart will be 22 and in his prime.

ROR in his prime. Risto in his 5th pro year, and in his prime.

We will have the flexibility to add players with a year or so left and load up the roster before we have to give Eichel 7.5 mil and Reinhart 5. (complete guess)

It took Reinhart a long time to get going last year, but we got laughed at for focusing on the shiney new toy instead of appreciating the skunk.
