But it is Ek's loss.

This page only makes $$$ on Hits for his advertisements so due to the Leafs regs being unable to handle themselves, EK loses $$$.

I am sure it is obvious that Ek's number of Cash Cows in down quite a bit since the hey day of trades prior to the CBA changes. Leaf/Canuck discussions would be one of the few glory spots left.

And Dozzer, unable to be neutral, just screws his boss.

Hits are based on original reads of a blog. It has nothing to do with posts or how many times a guy refreshes a page.

Enjoy the sun , don't spend more than 1.50 on breakfast and not more than 2.50 on a glass of wine.

I just don't want to see him called up and stuck on the 4th line or pressbox. play him meaningful minutes here or Utica.

A season ticket on HB and a trip to Mexico in the same year, things must be heating up at Walmart.

I remember back in the day greeters would get a handshake and a turkey at Xmas

I bet he would have a strong second half and be much more ready for next season.

In the perfect world, he gets called up at the TDL after playing well to replace a couple of traded wingers(Burrows, Hansen)

- boonerbuck

I can see that. I know he's got to prove it. A lot is on him. If he gets back I'm just not sold on WD. He has the tendacy to keep putting the same gas for all his engines (players). Can't put unleaded in a Diesel engine and blame it for not working.

... we really are lacking the scoring depth to give everyone opportunities and chemistry. Speaking of "blaming it"....

I am leading a team to teach our Mexican friends how to greet at a high level. Apparently Walmart is unaware that one is born with greeting skills and they can't be learned. Oh well, free trip

Who can post the best bookmark package covering all the teams and leagues that the Canucks prospects are playing in right now? Bonus point if you provide the links to the best of the next draft class as well

Well, because we still have Edler, didn't trade Vrbata or Hamhuis, still have Burrows/Hansen/Miller. Toronto did a great job of turning expiring players/contracts into picks. I've liked JB's picks, but he should be selling these players for picks and isn't. Last year was a debacle of a pre-season and TDL, not a team trying to rebuild. This year's pre-season was better, but signing LE was a big mistake and we could have tried to deal Hansen draft day.

1 - Trading players for less than full value just because they're over 22 is stupid.

2 - COULDN'T trade Vrbata and decided value offered was not worth trading Hamhuis. Both situations resulting from handicap of NTC's rather than incompetence of management.

3 - Burrows had zero trade value last year. The option was to buy him out and take a cap penalty for the next two years, or let him play it out. The latter looks like a better decision at this point.

4 - Hansen is a potential difference-maker as a third liner for a cup contender. That's when you would maximize his value. Trading him at the draft would have been a dumb move. Don't be surprised if he's moved this year at the deadline.

5 - They still needed a veteran goaltender this year and Miller has a NTC. He is also likely to be moved this year and will fetch more that way than he would as an off-season dump for no reason.

Toronto had a lousy team and signed a bunch of marginal players nobody else wanted to one year deals so they could hopefully flip some of them for draft picks. Not exactly rocket science and they're probably the only team in the league where you can get away with that strategy.

When you go through each scenario player by player and compare different teams each based on their own individual timelines, it's difficult to come to the conclusion that Canucks management isn't trying hard enough to accelerate a rebuild. It could be argued they're further ahead. So just because the Toronto media can't seem to stop pointing their collective finger and laughing at the Canucks doesn't mean you should listen to or agree with them.

Focusing one thing is not the be all of it. I get you on red flags. Earning it. No argument. Just keep in mind it's not cookie cutter in dealing with different people and types of players. WD hasn't shown ingenuity in so many things. So there are questions to his handling of this too.

I was at the Quesnel Walmart yesterday. The greeting lady was sitting on a chair reading a Walmart flier as people poured past her....

On the way out, she was reading the side of a laundry soap bottle at a display.... as people poured past her.
