he was Debbie Downer for awhile there but now he's Mr. Positive. I do see his position though, we FINALLY have some kids to be excited about, that hasn't happened since the Sedins, Kesler, Edler, Bieksa era. - LeftCoaster
Nobody was excited about Shannon or Schroeder? |

Funny, you say that but you expect Buffalo to be a contender after three years of building from the ground up - LeftCoaster
On paper their team looks pretty good. Missing a couple players that could really make them a force but good none the less. |

Maybe because I don't follow them and they don't seem to be significant over the last decade.

It was Martin who looked over to Guddy and asked if he wanted to go? I think he even dropped them first |

Any bans last night? - VanHockeyGuy
That's new problem with HB now eh?..... there are no actual conversations between rival fan bases because everyone is playing "Lets secretly goad the other into saying something and then report him."
I swear this website had less than a year left and all you need to see if that only the Canucks and Leafs blogs have any significant numbers.
And there is one last observation: The Leafs blog/regs seem to be doing two new things:
1. They quote the Canuck Thread with the hope that people will go and start something.
2. Changing their locations to Canuck Reg quotes. I mean why? Antagonism should be a bannable offense.

Good game last night, both teams played better than the standings suggest. Overtime was insane, Miller was stellar. The guy who stood out though was Stecher. |

“We have Daniel and Henrik Sedin here, who are very important to this organization and icons in the city. They’re not going anywhere. I don’t know how I walk into the room and tell these guys, ‘Strip it down.’ I’m not sure it’s fair to these guys,” Linden said. “There’s different circumstances, be it in Toronto or Carolina or Vancouver, that require different routes. It’s not perfect, but I’m encouraged by the young players we’ve introduced, and we’ve got some young prospects.”
"While there’s loyalty to the Sedins and the Canucks are trying to recover, they’re still tanking. The team finished 28th last season and just past the quarter-season mark this year they rank 25th. They’re getting top picks. What matters is whether or not they maximize the potential of rebuild intentionally or unintentionally, it's happening already."
From an article on the Hockey News....Linden's comments about the Canucks being in a different situation is completely out to lunch. This is an issue when you have the President of Hockey Operations with personal relationships within the dressing room.

I hear what you are saying, but I don't think there is only one single reason for the course they have taken beyond the bottom line of the business.
They can spin it a bunch of different ways, but I think the bottom line is to ice a competitive team that will sell tickets and fill the seats.
* I guess the second paragraph is a summation of the writers beliefs regarding what matters. makes me curious to see who the writer is and if they won any cups? |

I don't think it's a .500 team myself, I think with how injury prone our veterans are, we're probably closer to bottom 10 maybe bottom 5 in the league. That said, I don't think WD is getting the most out of the lineup, so this is why I say either he's gone if they don't go 3-0-2 or 3-1-1 on this trip or JB makes some sort of deal to bolster the lineup.
I also think the bullseye is on JB at this point, he was hired with the promise that he could keep the team making the playoffs while turning over the roster. He hasn't done that, were it not for the long term injuries to Edler and Tanev, you could have said that last year was an anomaly. Now as they've been injured again (along with Dorsett and Hansen) it's clear that depth on the team isn't enough to compete and that's on JB.
I'm not saying that he's done a bad job, just not a great job save for drafting and that's only part of the equation. I know FA, and I know how impatient he is when it comes to his 'toys' (which the Canucks are one of) and if things aren't going right he's quick to wipe the slate clean which also is why I say WD is a lame duck coach and JB is on the hot seat. At best WD has the rest of this year and then gets let go after the season ends, JB has this year and next before he gets toasted. - DariusKnight
When did he *promise* to keep the team in the playoffs? The context is completely different when you make stuff up like that.
If your * goal* is to make the playoffs,,, then that destroys that whole post... and that's what they stated from the beginning... their goal was to try and make the playoffs while transitioning in a younger generation. The first season they made the playoffs. Last season they were in the playoffs race for 3/4 of the season through all those injuries but collapsed eventually... like any team would have. This season they had a really poor start, but with 3/4 of a season left and the team is playing above .500 lately. I don't think the seat is as hot as you would like us to think it is... nowhere near actually.
You make a lot of speculative claims about what FA wants and how he thinks. Interesting. I don't ever see FA booting his staff around and making rash firings or anything ever. I really don't know why you are so convinced... wishful thinking I suppose.

Yesterday he was just out of it, I suspect he was in the sauce. He doesn't make sense most of the time with his lack of punctuation but yesterday he was - LeftCoaster
Sometimes I think he has prepared his posts ahead of time and cuts and pastes them when the opportunity arises making minor changes to make it fit.
