I totally agree, they are young and inexperienced, but I believe I'm being accused of hating them and wanting Edler and Tanev and no youth.
Should we not be critical of sloppy play regardless of who there are? - Makita
Like Edlers sloppy play that gave up a three goal lead to the Hawks or the part when Miller rushed to Stechers rescue when Martin attacked him because chickensh!t Edler would have watched? |

Dude we finished 28 th last year , how do you think this magical D that you want happens? Do you think you close your eyes and click your heels three times and you have a magic D?
This team has been free falling since 2011 they finally made a little improvement in the right direction. - VANTEL
Alright alright you win...wow what a great defensive team we have, holy fcuk these guys are the greatest. I can't believe how stupid it is of me to criticize anyone on the defence wearing a canucks uniform. All hail the 25th place team and their magnificent D. |

Absolutely.
I, for one, am excited for Tanev and Edler to get back in the lineup. Mostly because I don't think Philip Larsen has any business being in the NHL, and I'm still not a fan of Luca Sbisa (despite his relatively improved performance to last year) |

Should you not criticize that? Do you think because it's Edler he is immune to criticism..no because you are the first here to do the criticizing.
Now change Edlers name with Gudbranson or Stecher and they should get the exact same ctiticism, but no they are young so they get a pass. |

Stecher saved the game on Saturday, he cleared the puck on the goal line. Gudbrandson stood up for a team mate, something Edler has not done his entire career nor Tanev. |

Yes they did and both commendable, see that's praise from me for their actions in that game. In the Anaheim game they both stunk, Stecher couldn't get a puck out of his zone to save his life. And Gudbranson was the reason for a goal, that is criticism.

You shoot it down a lot, but how do you know? I've played golf with FA before at Golden Eagle and got to talk to him. He's fired the entire staff of that golf course because it didn't do as well as Swan-E-Set down the road. And he loves that golf course too, just like he loves the team, so what makes you think that it would be any different. Especially because he loves the team more than he does the golf course. - DariusKnight
The Difference is you're comparing a golf course, which even the highest rated ones in North America are valued at no more than 5-10 million (and that's being generous) to a hockey team that's worth upwards of 900 million dollars, one of the highest in the NHL and sports in general. It's a different animal, they're incomparable. |

It's not upwards of 900 million anymore, it's closer to 700 and dropping due to the Canadian dollar being low and because of the lack of attendance. But I do get what you're saying, but from actually talking to him about the team, I think he's more apt to be trigger-happy with it then he is his other businesses because he's more attached to the team than the rest. The only thing that holds him back is that now he has TL to be his hatchet man and he actually does listen to him and that he trusts TL because TL has actually run successful businesses outside of hockey. |

For those who are statistically inclined, he has the second highest corsi for % for dmen on the team behind only Stecher. |

Other stats (non-fancy):
-1st on the team in hits
-4th on the team in blocks
-3rd most giveaways on the team behind Hutton and Sbisa |

Of course, his Corsi for % is only 50.61 so it's not like he's a world-beater in that regard
EDIT: And he starts more of his shifts in the offensive zone rather than the defensive zone... for context |

Pretty sure last year's D had us in a better position at this point of the season?
This year's D is also capable of putting us in 30th by seasons end...Little early to be calling this formation any better. That said, they are much more entertaining then the likes of Weber and Bart. |

I still get the feeling hes getting comfortable here. From interviews and his Canucks.com clips, he seems like a guy that needs to be well integrated and to take ownership of things before dictating play. In FLA he seemed to be more aggressive and I hope that'll come through soon enough. For now hes been a fairly steady 'meh' as others have put it |
