When the Bills hired Rex and when the Sabres hired Disco Dan both fan bases warned us. They weren't trash talking, they just knew. - Buffalo--Sabres
Rex took us to 2 AFC championship games....but then the rest of the league figured out his defense...
I love Rex as a person...but he belongs in this league as a Defensive Coordinator...hell, he's so good at it he might be the highest paid and most respected
As far as Disco....we should have listened to the Pitt fans....that dude is just out of touch...and he's ruining our young talent...Bylsma is doing the same thing he did in Pitt: hoping to ride the coattails of truly talented young players to another cup.
I've said it once i'll say it again..He shouldn't get credit for being this amazing coach because he made the O SO HARD decision to put Crosby, Malkin, and MAF on the ice...But the news media and some on here keep doing it (i.e. letting him off the hook because Eichel came back and won us a couple of games)
If that's all it takes to be a respected coach then why don't I get to coach the sabres...
GMTM: "Hmm feetontheair...what should we do to win???"
Me: "I'VE GOT IT!!! We'll put Eichel, ROR, Reinhart and Risto on the ice!!"
Me: "And here's the surprise twist...we put Guhle on the team too!"
See...now we win games....so give me the coaching job
EDIT: Lioneater's goal last night was classic Girgs...and its a style disco doesn't like to see

I never liked the bylsma hiring, but the record isnt his fault. This isnt a good team, especially with the injuries.

Can you find me a coach that has won a Cup in the last 10 years that didn't have superstars playing for him?
Seriously though, I have never heard a coach say stop forechecking and playing hard. Usually its tighten up defensively and clog the passing lanes, not completely stop playing.

I agree. That play reminded me of rookie year Girgs. And, if he still has it in him to play that way then F&ck Disco Dan!!!, he needs to do it. This is his NHL career disco is ruining, I support Girgs going rogue any way he can.

One goal does not change the fact that Girgensons has done nothing to support keeping him or paying big money

Yesterday's collapse looked like inexperience. - Stripes77
Darryl Sutter, 2011-12 LA Kings....and before you say Anze Kopitar he only scored 25 goals (which led the team)
The only player on that team which you might consider a "superstar" was Quick who was playing out of his mind and carried them
One day Pegula will wise up and hire a hockey guy and a football guy to run his teams until then, progress will not be made. - SABRES 89
Until then, I'd expect very little from either team. Both are what they are. Nothing more or less until he gets someone in to make the smart decisions.

team was skating backwards in the 3rd and ot instead of attacking
just like the meltdown vs the flyers
I gotta think that is coaching, playing for ot instead of winning in regulation

I find it amazing how many careers are being "ruined" by the coaching staff. I didn't know players had a remote control chip inserted into them nowaways and the coach operates the remote.

They didn't really do that though. They simply got beat to the spot about 90% of the time. Like I said last night, if they were merely dumping the puck in when they reached center ice, I would agree, but they weren't doing that. They were still trying to attack the net in the 3rd. They just got shut down by a better team. When the Capitals got desperate, the Sabres didn't know how to respond.

it's gotta be coaching IMO - homiedclown
You're overrating the talent imo and i hate bylsma
The bottom 4 guys there are not skilled guys, not anymore anyways. ROR, Reinhart and Okposo are not finishers. its why the pp tends to have one too many passes. And there's literally no puck movement coming from the D.
unless its one of the truly elite(babcock) or truly stupid(nolan) coaching really doesnt have as much of an impact as people like to believe. mostly about managing egos and ice time. The rest is just talent.
