It looked like he caught an edge on a board battle, depending on how badly the ligament was torn(all sprains are tears) he might have gone bone-to-bone, and with copious first-hand knowledge, that hurts like a mother(frank)er and it can be sore for a little while after, and that leads to not wanting to push off which makes it worse. Obviously wild speculation. But he's not using his normal powerful stride since he went to the bench.
