Yeah, I meant that more to mean he's an all around D, we need a couple more guys who can bring offense, even if they aren't as solid defensively - jcragcrumple
I'd rather have more guys like Risto than guys that are going to be a liability out there. What good is it if they score you goals more frequently but also cost you goals more frequently? Seems to bring you back to where we are now. Our goal scoring may be higher, but instead of losing 2-1 we'll end up losing 3-2 or some crap like that.
No thanks. If they're going to bring in a guy that's got more offense to his game, his ass better be good at defense too. |

I've seen this twice now once here and once on the last blog and both times I saw it I thought they traded him |

Every player jersey ive gotten for the sabres that player has been traded within the year.
Took a lot to fight the temptation to buy an eichel jersey. I restrained myself...for the fans - Sabresfan-365
I'm all about the blank jerseys. The only one I have with a name is red Blackhawks Roenick. |

my whole point is about D positions 2-6. I think Risto is a number one and is really good. I don't think we have a #2 and 3 D who can help generate offense.
Besides Risto, our D is simply not good enough to generate scoring |

that's a false dichotomy, though. we need a guy like Jason Demers or Trevor Daley who is decent defensively and can drive possession. Trust me, I'm not advocating for Sekera |

McCabe only has 10 less shot attempts than Seabrook
Campbell has 43 Franson has 50
Kulikov and Bogo combined (25 total games played) have 29. Those two need to be better but Hjalmarsson only has 28 |

They need someone who can turn a few of those attempts into actual points otherwise its meaningless possession. |

This - Sabresfan-365
So after digging when it comes to shots attempted the Sabres D is getting their fair share of chances.
Compared to Chicago its pretty close.
So again I am looking at the forwards... |

Right but where are the forwards banging home a rebound?
This goes back to the shooting percentage being 1.6% lower as a team this year than last years team.
That's a bigger issue.
Eichel back should help but I'm not sure how much. |

if those shots suck, there's no comparison to make. I'm done with this point. You think the D is doing enough. I dont |

Thats true too. There's a lack of finishing on both sides. Chicagos D has combined for what 8 or 9 goals so far compared to our 1? |

Its worse than that. even through the eye test they're getting some decent looks, they just dont have the skill set to finish with any sort of consistency. |

The only "current" jersey design I have is that Blackhawks one and that's only because they haven't changed the overall design except for that curved bottom on all the jerseys now. I have a new blue home Oilers, but I bought that when it was still their throwback, a blue Canucks 3rd/retro with the stick in the rink. |
