Looked clean to me - golfingsince
Yep. Even looked like Hall held back a bit at the end once he realized Larsen had no intent on bracing/protecting himself for the hit. Instead of following through fully with the shoulder he tries to make more of a shove of it.

After a couple of PVR replays it's clear Hall didn't have to skate through him. He chose to hit him while he was vulnerable a' la Raffe Torres. Clean hit yes, but reckless and unnecessary. Brent Seabrook says hello - Bowel-Auger

We all don't have to agree on everything, that's boring. Don't let a difference of opinion get you down, stand your ground. |

Maybe you should watch contact free sports then....not a thing wrong with that hit. Hockey is a tough game, it's appeal is the physical confrontation. Should have let up ....bullpoop he should have sped up an hit him harder. Skating behind the net with your head down you get what you deserve. This isn't Europe...we play the body over here. - Bullfrog77

Your welcome.
I know that the hit was clean according to CBA, but that doesn't change the fact that is was unnecessary. Larsens head was down because the puck was in his feet. Nobody can find a (frank)ing puck in their feet with their head up. This should fall on Hall to know what his hit will likely do and avoid hitting and go for the puck . The CBA needs to change to prevent these kinds of hits. I would be surprised of Larsen doesn't sue the league over this. - Retinalz
Gee Retinalz, I tried to say as much but got put in my place several times. Are you trolling? I'll get the hang of this sooner or later |

The guy was fully unconscious... No sympathy eh? Concussions KILL in so many more ways than we understand. CTE is for life.. And we lost an amazing player in Rick Rypien because of it.
It may be unpopular, but I think we need to take a serious look at how much we care about the players on the ice and their well being, and adjust some rules accordingly. BLIND SIDE hits = out of the game is where I'd like to start. |

No it's mostly Tanev or Edler or JV and a first, but we need the first and JV, so doesn't leave much of a choice. |

The problem is some people dont' like seeing guys get destroyed like that. Clean or not. Seeing guys down like that is not a good thing I don't like seeing guys stretchered off the ice but it happens and its sad when it happens off a clean hit.
Hits will never get taken out of the game. The game is fast. |

Scary play, but watching in full speed puck winds around wind up in Larsen feet and he gets drilled. Keep in mind Hall is coming along the boards quick, doesn't look like he's trying to target a defenseless player. I'm more disappointed with the reaction after the play and the number of kicks Larsen takes to the head while unconscious on the ice.
