Soft trolling and bragging about yourself is hardly conversation.
The amount of time some of you Leafs fans spend in here suggests you have divided loyalties.

Who did or said what this time...?

I called Benning stoopid, therefore, I must have implied I was intelligent? And off we go

Too many gaps in the lineup to make a difference with this roster. Which is why I think they will ride WD's contract out and shop for a new coach in the summer hopefully before the draft. Edler Hansen Sbisa Burrows all need to be gone at TDL for future assets. we have 4 AHL players logging minutes in Gaunce Skilless Megna and CHappoo...we are in big trouble if we can't even keep pace with the Flames and can barely stay above the Avs and ARZ.

Make a goddamn trade for Landeskog or Duchesne or accept reality that we will be out of it completely in a month.

- LordHumungous

Cgy arz and avs have all been drafting higher then Van for years. Need players to put up in the expansion draft. Trading all assets for unknown picks is not good business. Better to trade players with expiring contracts at TDL. Other players at the draft.

Benning is probably a smart guy, just as Gillis, Burke and Nonis before him were. Unfortunately intelligence and performance are not always correlated, especially in a sport such as hockey where performance is determined relative to other people who are all trying to out-perform you.

Linden: “Our goal is to play some meaningful games in March and be in the hunt. As of right now, it’s about seeing the young players, watching the defence continue to develop, seeing Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi and Marcus Granlund continue to play well.”

Gillis's only downfall, besides his personality, was he was unable to replenish the system to create another push from below. In six drafts he only provided Horvat and Hutton to the organization, that's a fail.

Well calling someone smarter, or even the same level of intelligence as you, stupid is a meaningless statement. To call someone stupid means that you feel you are smarter than they are, at some level.

I hear ya. I was telling myself the silver lining is we aren't wasting a pick on a rental for a playoff push.

I know with pending ufa's, I don't have a problem if they aren't moved if the offers weren't there.

While I agree with you for the most part it's clear Edler Burrows and Sbisa for example aren't going to be part of the long term plan here. So instead of getting nothing ala Hamhuis/Vrbata get something while you can. Hansen is the only player we could logistically keep because he is so versatile through 4 lines but if the right building block comes along for Tanev/Hansen we need to make that deal as well. If we keep waiting for the contract expiry year on aging worthless players it isn't helping us moving forward.

Linden is pacing for the press but realistically he knows where we will be with 6+ AHL players in the lineup right now. He can't come outright and say ' ya we suck and PO's are not an option' so it is what it is.

Gillis, Gilman, Burke, Nonis are intelligent people, but yes, job performance does not always lend itself to this level of intelligence.

As for Benning, I'm sure he's a nice/good person, however, I do not think he's an intelligent man on the level of a Mike Gillis. Obviously just a guess on my part but that's how I feel about him.

I put more comma's in there so it makes more sense

Actually I don't believe it's meaningless at all, that's just how I feel about him, he constantly comes out with head shaking statements.

Hi,

The new blog is up. All things considered, good news to hear that Philip Larsen is cleared to head back to Vancouver for more observation.

Also, a look at the Mike Gillis/Laurence Gilman link to the New York Islanders...

I think Benning is just trolling the extremely gullible and less intelligent members of this fan base. Personally, I can read between the lines when linden and managment give interviews but it's a challenge for some

He just got lucky and it was worth 800+ before he took over

Do you blame him for the Canadian dollar drop and the exact same percentage drop of all the Canadian franchises also.

Yeah, I've never understood this. He can even just say "I expect us to compete every night and, when the time comes, we'll look at where we are in the standings, where our squad is in terms of depth, age, and contracts, and we'll act accordingly."

c'mon man, youre smarter than this. You know that just because people list the Chaput line second after Sedins doesnt make it the "second line"... Chaput played a total of 10 minutes, Bo played 21. Your hatred of WD is blinding you
- WhiteLie

it was in response to another post dude. Thats why it was in the form of a question. Didnt you notice that?

lol...there is not a coach in this league that could make this group play better. We have positives (Stecher) and such but the personnel on this club has gaps from 1st line to fourth. Injury prone players which will not be asked to waive...on and on...
- LordHumungous

that is wrong

Yes, your question was "and why is he using chaput as a 2nd line center over Bo?", I merely pointed out that when they write this:

Doesnt actually mean Chaput is second line...
