I am not a huge Gionta fan but he is having a very reasonable year and has done exactly what the Sabres wanted him to do when they brought him in 2.5 years ago - provide professional leadership and help make us a free agent destination of sorts.

Regarding next year, I still say it goes to ROR. ROR is a beast and provides excellent leadership. Plus why put that much more pressure on Jack. Give him an A and tell him to score 40 goals/100 points.

The best player usually is the heartbeat. Especially when he's as good as Eichel is. Don't forget ROR is playing hurt too. Back/oblique injury.
