I making excuses ?? you saw exactly what happen when Jack got injured that game it's like everyone on the team gave up and thus ending in a goal
this team has no mental toughness - GERBE!!!75PTS
Yeah, you weren't as big on the "it's all excuses" as others, but, it's not necessarily they lack mental toughness, when half your team is injured and you're on the 30th guy your team is going to look weak. But it's just because a 3rd liner from Rochester isn't exactly suited for life in the NHL. |

I'm talking about the day he got " re- injured it looked like a whole different team
then as soon as he got injured the whole team just gave up it's like it was the end of the world to them |

The sabres should tank this year they need some more elite talent or a top forward
They have too many players that are callings of a third line player - GERBE!!!75PTS
They have 4 true top 6 forwards in ROR, Okposo, Eichel and Reinhart.
They have 2 others when healthy are 2nd/3rd liners in Ennis and Kane.
Nylander is projected to be a top 6 forward.
That leaves a need for 1 true top 6 forward.
Your analysis like usual is off based. |

After the team responds like this to Eichel, you must literally rip the C off of Gionta and give it to him now.
Oh right, Sabres.
Wheres that Aliens guy...
- BeadyEyedDouche
That's not a good look if you want to be seen as a top notch organization.
Also players don't "need" a letter to play well. Eichel will be captain, next year perhaps, but if I had to guess I'd say at least 2. I think you go Eichel with the "C", ROR with an "A", and Risto with the other "A". Possibly give Gionta another "A" and just rotate the "A"s. Or they could do a dual captain thing with ROR and Eichel like they had with Drury and Briere, one gets all the road games and the other all the home games. |

I'm not entirely sure what you mean with the first sentence, so I'll just respond to the bold.
It was pretty devastating to lose him the day before the season.
He never "re-injured" it, he tweaked it and played tentatively for a few minutes and probably shouldn't have been out there if he couldn't push off without pain, but then after a few shifts he was better again, not 100%, but better. And if it was that bad he wouldn't have played last night. I liked what I saw from him last night. Sure there was some tentativeness there, but I thought overall, he had a good game and seemed to be trusting it more as the game wore on and he played 18:31 against the Caps and 19:16 against the Oilers. That's a very positive thing. |

I was basically talking about how he tweaked his ankle and all the players seem to just give up and a goal happened in that game
But the Sabres have to come up with a plan to rest him some games and not playing him so much they need to balance him out .. |

It really doesn't, teams don't sustain the amount of injuries to players of importance and come through unscathed. I think the Sabres did extremely well to come through 1 point shy of half the available points during the Eichel and 8 other guy's injuries. We have an emergency Junior call up right now in Guhle that's how many defensemen are hurt right now.
We got a good look at some guys from the farm, some of them ready, others not.
There's more than enough talent to be a wild-card team right now. Yes we could use another top pair defenseman and a solid winger, but it's a process. |

Why does everyone want to lower expectations ? The goal is not to be a wildcard team the goal is to be a Stanley Cup contender
for example everyone's like OK we got a 40 goal score that could be good with Jack
We got our top line winger for him
now everyone's A-OK with a grinder that can chip in 15 goals a year

This.
And yes not this year, but it's not like we are adding a top 3 pick or have a bunch of growth yet to come. This is the team. Minus Nylander.
Can they be good? Sure, great? Not a chance. Unless serious re-tooling is done |

I said there's enough talent to be a wild-card team right now. In the future, next couple of years, yes, the goal is to be a contender. The coach's expectation for this year is 95 points, that's a wild-card team. Murray as well thinks this current team is a wild-card team, but neglected to put a point total on it. Again, it's a process that doesn't just happen overnight, or even in a couple, three years. Other teams getting super lucky does not mean it happens all the time. The odds of any one person winning the lottery are really, really good, it happens all the time. The odds of "you" winning the lottery are astronomically not in your favor. If Chicago didn't win the lottery from what 5th? to get Kane, they're not the dynastic team everyone loves to compare to. They'd have ended up with someone like Hickey, Alzner or Sam Gagner. Even if they drafted Voracek who was drafted 7th they wouldn't be as good, because he wasn't good until his 5th year in 12-13. Kane has 239 more points than Voracek in 54 more games. |

Because you've seen an 80% Eichel for 4 games you think this is the team? You don't think he's going to get a lot better?
They don't need "serious re-tooling" they need a couple pieces and to let the players grow before you try and run them out of town. i.e. Reinhart. |

Eichel has 5 points in 5 games. Do you except he becomes a 164 point player? Reinhart is Reinhart. This is him. He's one of the oldest player in his class, and is getting out performed by guys like Pastrnak, Draisaitl, Ehlers, Nylander. He's a solid player but a total dud of a 2nd overall pick. We need another high end talent if this team is serious about contending for a cup. |

Maybe I'm sick of everyone saying everyone is ok we're a wildcard team now
And now everyone's telling me well that's because we have people from Rochester hate to break it to you wall but those are the players that are supposed to be up here and take over
