One thing i do appreciate from GMTM is his no bullpoop manner of doing business....its refreshing...especially in hockey where we always get the same 5 or 6 answers to every question - feetontheair22
I agree. I may not agree with every move he makes but he always has a reason for his actions and he isn't afraid to let you know. Seems like a cool cat that I would love to have a beer with.

but the stars have 2 games in hand on the 3rd place team jets, who are only 3 points better
stars have been decimated up front with injuries
to say that team is dead, when they are 2 points out of 8th in the west IS AN IDIOTIC STATEMENT
if they had armia, they would be cup contenders - homiedclown
Idiotic? They are 6th in their division, and the team they are 2 points behind of the Wild Card (Minnesota) they have played 3 more games and have 3 less regulation wins.

They are cooked. - sbroads24
Guess they should have planned and had better depth right?
7. One other front office note: Buffalo Sabres GM Tim Murray signed an extension on opening night. Word is he’s locked in for four years—this last season of his current contract, plus a three-year addition.

Eh, management term never really matters. They either get fired or extended
IMO Murray shouldn't be trading away anything beyond a 4th round or later draft pick for an "aging veteran" winger who might only end up playing 10 or 12 games for us. Unless we are within 4 points or so of a playoff spot, then I might go up to a conditional 2nd (if we make the playoffs), dropping to a 3rd if we don't.
Now, if we can trade away Ennis or Moulson at their full value contracts for an aging vet winger who might only stay for 10 or 12 games, sign me up!

Checks the standings...the Sabres are within 4 points of a playoff spot...
Make a move now. There's 50 plus games left to be played. Add now. See what you can do to make a legit run at the playoffs. See what you have. Vrbata would work.

still not really the kind of move they should make until deadline day and they're actually in a playoff spot. otherwise you're kind of just giving the pick away and hoping you can salvage it at the deadline if you're out of it. Next move has to be a big one imo.

They're starting to score since Eichel's return.
I think a tweak up front and not a huge move would do it. Not to mention it's not a 12 game rental player. It's a potentially 50 plus game rental or you move him at the deadline of the Sabres collapse.
A Vrbata move now fills a hole in the top 6. Moves Moulson out of it, and gets Grant in the press box.
