Since you're not that bright, apparently, I was being sarcastic, your post was childish and stupid.
Who said they had to make a move next week? - LeftCoaster
You are right I am not that bright that is why I come here and read the comments section to raise my IQ level.
My thanks comment was also sarcasm.
My apologies if I offended with my childish sense of humour. |

Guddy is years younger the Edler and Tanev. Not same comparison for long term. As for NHL years played there is a base there to know what you got in Guddy. Why they made the trade. His recent play just doesn't raise price but it may be wishful thinking on lowering it. - Nuck4U
Just because you're younger doesn't mean you should be paid more. He has the worst +\- on the team and doesn't produce offence. I am not saying he won't be worth a big contract but definitely not right now. They made the trade to help with with the D. He has some added benefits, like being a good character guy and a leader but doesn't mean you throw more money at him then any dman has seen in Van in a long time/ever.

No kidding, would rather sign him 3.5-4mill tops for the one year and let him walk after that as opposed to that anchor.
Dude has yet to prove he can even be a top 4 defenseman, paying him as a top 2 won't make it so |

I get his play hasn't been good enough. Guddy may be first to admit it. Critics will say that's all he is.
Here is the problem. The market has moved. Only Edler remains as any established D that signed a contract. The market has moved up a lot since then. Cap has gone up so do contracts as well.
So he's up for new contact. He's not going for a small bump on it. Same situation with trade for Sutter and then signing extension. JB knows what he traded for at this level. They are not looking for bridge deals and will lock up long term. If that is the case then he's getting the big contract having played for so many years.
Personally, I'd like to see a bridge for minimum raise and 2 year term. But things don't work that way after commitment on trade. Plus JB would want long term not to risk Guddy going to UFA. |

Hasn't top 2 money moved into the 6M per year range? Superstars much more. |

If Hall had of run into Tryamkin instead of Larsen would we be talking about his concussion? - A_SteamingLombardi
I haven't back-read (and I'm not going to) but if Larsen is heading home he should stay there. Once he has recovered there is a spot reserved for him on the Comets' 3rd pairing. |

It was clean within the CBA and I don't thinkit would matter who it was that got hit here. I just still think it was unnecessary. Hall fully committed to the hit before Larsen had the puck. Had that puck gone passed Larsen w/o him touching it, the result would be the same, except Hall would be getting suspended right now. - Retinalz
Yeah. Main thing about that hit is Hall came out of nowhere. It was an unusual place for him coming the other way around the net at the time based on the play. Why PL had no chance and didn't protect himself. |

Tanev just signed a deal with decent term for like 4.25. only 2.5 years difference i believe in age. |

A little birdie tells me the Canucks have a 6 year 32.5M contract extension agreement in place with Guddy's agent which won't (can't) be announced until the first week in 2017.
So my question is what happens first? Guddy scores a goal or the 6 year extension is bought out?
- rojan61
I wouldn't worry too much about guddy signing a deal even close to that |

Bridge deals are deals for players coming out of their ELC not a 25yr old.
Would you say Guddy is in the same place, player wise, as Seth Jones? Or Hampus Lindholm?
I don't think he is and that's what that contract would put him. If JB signs him to that contract the he should be fired a day later!!

Contracts also tend to be based on skill, deployment, consistency, success and progressive development.
Even when Edler and Tanev were on the roster, Hutton and Stecher where logging more ice-time than E.G and they have a combined total of 118 NHL game experience to Erik's 335. |
