Yeah. Main thing about that hit is Hall came out of nowhere. It was an unusual place for him coming the other way around the net at the time based on the play. Why PL had no chance and didn't protect himself.
- Nuck4U

Clean hit! PL should be aware where the players are in his own zone. And at that level should have had his head up.

Tanev just signed a deal with decent term for like 4.25. only 2.5 years difference i believe in age.
- Retinalz

If I'm Benning I use tanev's contract as a ceiling for guddy and would hopefully get it done at a lower AVV

I think Sbisa had to get a bit of the blame as well

Larsen was reaching behind himself because of the pass

So is Cal going to sign Johnson long term? Good thing that rumour of a long term deal with Elliott didn't come together.

Sbisa put that puck to an open area. It was the only spot to go with it cause the wall was closed off. I actually blame Markstrom more because he knew where Hall was, he should have been yelling to PL before the puck went to him.

That makes the most sense.

If his agent pushes for more, trade him.

I couldn't believe it when I heard they were discussing an extension with Elliott before the season ...just dumb

Honestly I have no clue what will come of Johnson ...he could be a backup again by the new year and no one would really he surprised ...he doesn't really have a body of work so I say wait til the end of the season and go from there

Having a glut of D men the Canucks can play hard ball in a way if they want ...the only issue is how it might look trading a first rounder for a guy who is gone in a year or less

Yeah I guess you need to keep playing him and see. He might turn out to be the signing of the yr, he's playing stellar. Cal is in a good position, both goalies are UFA's and with the expansion draft coming there will be a few good goalies available.

Yeah I was pretty happy they didn't pay a big price for either fleury or bishop just yet ...take a couple flyers on cheap goalies that have had some success and if that doesn't work you can say you tried itbthis way and now you have to pay either through free agency or trade

You seem to have more of an opinion than most refs ...not just a couple comments here and there followed by the ban hammer ...but actual dialogue and make good argumentative points

Also allows you to free up the cap space with the Smid and Wideman contracts being up.....pretty intelligent managing.

Not my style Kaynine, but I will resort to sarcasm, facetiousness, mild ridicule, even shaming, but I don't pull the power trip unless it's really warranted.

Guddy's an interesting player, thing's you like, some not so much. The analytical guys hate him. He brings things to the table the team lacks. Jury's still out.

When Tanev signed the market was lower and he had less years played to base body of work. Guddy is already at 3.5M so a long term raise would reflect minimum 1M per year plus. Which is where that contract is headed. Or at least I see that from the original post. I would think 4.5 for 6 would be reasonable. Just not probable based on circumstances.

JB sees him as top 4 maybe he's only 4/5 on a competitive team. Down the road that will probably be aroud 5M contract for an established player.

Yep, we'll attest to that. He need's to pull the trigger faster sometimes.

Wideman
Engelland
Smid
Both goalies

All coming off

But have to sign
2 goalies
Bennett
Ferland
And replace 1 D maybe 2

There's room but not a lot really

I think you have to look at it as who do you want mentoring demko ...I think there's 3 choices :

Miller
Markstrom
Acquire someone else

If I'm a canuck fan I like Miller over the other two choices

You probably get an asset for one of the goalies you don't keep

- Redmile247

thats the job of goalie coach, who are retired goalies with tons of experience
