Agreed. Nov 9 was a sad day in the Lums house. Hell, Mrs Lums was depressed for days following the result

I'm a born and raised Englishman/Manchester United fan, so everything I had as a kid was white and red or red and white... Moving to Canada and becoming a Leafs fan and having to wear the same colours as Chelsea and Manchester City took some getting used to

- lumlums

so you came to canada and became a leafs fan. Someone badly misguided the newbie...certainly a practical joke on you. They're probably still laughing about it

I recall that story yes. that sure explains alot

So why does he have to drag it all out again and re open those wounds. Just keeps it going

- SMBDragon

Does it matter if he is a Canuck hater? That bandwagon just seems to grow more back East as they stumble more out West.

Always loved hockey as a kid, but mainly through NHL '94 and whatever scraps of live NHL games we got in the homeland (starting at midnight). Landed in TO back in the early 2000's, and just got swept up by it all.

If only I knew then what I do now...

EDIT: What really made it for me was when I started dating Mrs Lums - from a family of YUUUGE Leafs fans. I introduced her to football (soccer) too... and she became a (frank)ing Liverpool fan

It's a good thing that she's nice to look at

I moved back to Canada. Need a head start before the rush. Plus Canuck rebuild needs a good look up close

We want to for sure. Hopefully by summer next year (if not before) we'll be back in the homeland. For now we're just seeing out our contracts and a few miles south of Van with a nice rental on a lake, so we can't complain too much

There was one sports channel back in the day that had highlights of North American sports... and it struck a cord with my brother and I. Coming to Canada and enjoying it first hand really just solidified that love for the game

(Sadly my skating is still mediocre - I grew up in a town of a couple hundred with no rink in sight so didn't lace 'em up until I was 21 )

cool story

here in canada its like its right in your dna from birth. I remember video of gretzky at age 3 skating and scoring (good shot for 3) at a high level in his backyard rink.

growing up in a smaller town in southern ontario We had a couple immigrants come in from Guatemala. Spoke no english but we had a hockey stick in their hands in a week or 2.

When the NHL had the contract there you could see games in the 90's on Skysports satellite. Kept up with Canucks a bit like that when I was in England after '94 Cup run. Then they messed it up going for NHL center ice package exclusively. At least recently internet signals are improved enough for broadcasts when I had gone over to Europe during Hockey season.

I am not sure Shea Weber would do better with this team. When you have a forward top line that needs a walker to get up and down the ice , Chaput in your top 6 , and three players that hit, what do you expect.

It was -10 here without the windchill yesterday, I'm from Vancouver. Cold here only for a short period, but it sucks. 5 weeks until Mexico.

You could be right ...but I still don't think his value has gone up since that trade ...kinda a tough spot for him really and I do think he's done decent considering
