Two weeks after revealing their name and logo, a trademark request filed by the NHL on behalf of the Golden Knights was denied by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is all pretty standard when applying for a trademark... The USPTO will send office actions bringing up objections to the request, the company can then respond to those office actions and convince the examiner to allow the request. This story is much ado about nothing really. Vegas can also license the national trademark if needed

The name is horrible. The logo isn't too bad.

the tl;dr version is that Pat was physically abused by his father as a kid - Burr used this against him and would chirp that he was going to "smack him around just like his father did" whenever they played...
