Quebec construction shuts down for 2 weeks in July for summer holidays and usually 2 weeks for XMas holidays.
but then DEMAND unrealistic dates for delivery of goods.

As surprising as it may seem, departments of our government are unaware of what the others are doing. I'm pretty sure they planned their job without even thinking about that, or look at the CCQ calendar.
Often project managers working for the government are surprised they need to pay temps double for work during the weekends. Some of them are really clueless.

Yeah...that's how it works here...Construction workers have a concrete collective labor agreement. I don't have that of course because I work in the office.

We shut down our plant for a week or two around Christmas every year, but that's just to be nice and because its the slow season anyway. Goddamn unions. |
