At what point do you think Cooper will lose the locker room if they continue to struggle? The reason I ask is because Cooper is the type of guy who will continue to try and stick the square peg thru the round hole instead of changing his philosophy even though it seems teams have figured out how to play against his system. The d-zone play is so horrendous and the team seems to struggle with any adversity that happens in the game.

Yep. One of my biggest gripes with Coop, is he's hard headed.

Stu was on twitter comparing the Lightning to the Canucks of 2011 and was wondering if there isa similarity.. Losing 2 years in a row, and feeling they need to change something up because they couldn't get over the hump. Kinda like Vancouver switching from skill to physical play and grit (or at least tryin to). Or is it just the fact that losing Stammer again is finally showing its toll.

Losing Stamkos and probably his voice in the locker has to be in some way affecting the team right now. I have met Steven multiple times, that guy is pure class and I am sure he takes that C on his chest to heart. I was never one who wanted to see him go, glad he stayed now if he could just stay healthy. They need leaders to step up, Hedman or Stralman someone who will take control of the team. Honestly I wonder if that guy is Bishop but with him in limbo knowing he won't be back maybe he doesn't want to take that on.

We can theorize all we want but something is definitely wrong with this team right now and I think its deep rooted problem - to me I think they need some fresh ideas to wrinkle into what makes the team already so good. If you watch the Blackhawks they are always adapting to their new personnel, I just wonder if Cooper can get past his stubborness to make some scheme changes. It took him 3 years to give up the PP which was always horrible with him leading it.

If its not fixed fast there goes their playoff chances this year. Maybe the Bolts are this years Canadiens as they folded last year when they lost Price but are back with a vengeance this year so far.

This is an understatement... ... that's why I used my analogy because its his way or no way.

Talent has masked a lot of things for Cooper over the last few years. Hasn't shown a willingness to make adjustments as you note. Hoping this slide changes that.

As in he makes adjustments or as in a coaching change? Seeing Bylsma in PIT get a big head and refuse to make adjustments was his ultimate demise.. I could see that happening to Coop. But as you said on Twitter Stu... did he change his system this year due to 2 tough playoff losses? I honestly haven't been watching a ton of Lightning hockey since I stopped working there.

Would ideally like to see him make adjustments. Question you have to ask yourself when replacing a coach is: Who's better? Do you take a chance on a guy like Travis Green? Do you look at a guy like Kevin Dineen? My fear would be that they get rid of Cooper and go with some out-of-date retread, thereby taking the team in the wrong direction.

Idk if Cooper is the problem IMO
Make JB a serious offer for Edler once he is back
Maybe Edler/Hansen for Drouin/Filppula

Why the (frank) would the Lightning want Edler? Hahahaha

That's a hysterical trade offer. If it was trolling, it's really bad. If it's not trolling and you're serious, you're really bad and should probably delete your account.

Yeah honestly, I'm not even sure what the answer would be... just a season of bad luck, with injuries and what not? Has he lost the locker room? Are all the rumors of him and Stammer bickering true, and are other players not buying in? Who knows?

Honestly.. I'm not sure it would set them back in the wrong direction... I personally think Coop is a tad overrated as a coach, and the skill on that team makes him look better than he really is.
