Doing what wrong? being marginally better a 1/4 the way through what will likely prove to be a bottom 5 finish for both teams or at rebuilding?
Honestly guys, if our benchmark is to have a slightly better record than the leafs at this stage, we deserve to be trolled. - belcherbd
That's not what we did. Don't such a fool. In fact, that's what we are saying to Leafs fans and media who play it off like they are over the hump on their rebuild and we only a lottery win or a couple of drafts behind them without even tearing it down yet. It's a big fkn joke coming out of Ontario.

We've won five games in regulation....they don't have shootouts or 3 on 3 in the playoffs - LeftCoaster

Who cares, don't be so sensitive about what 'they' say.
Its as if we need an anti-bullying campaign up in this piece. |

Meaning if they were fast lets take out his knees or break his ankle, if you had good hands you got slashed in the hands constantly and those guys played with broken bones all the time and nowadays no one touches anyone and cant say anything it might hurt there feelings bla bla bla. - Bettmanhatesus
Watching old hockey games, how bad the goalies were and slow the players... so much better now. |

That thought is so last month, liberalism is in decline, political correctness is no more, say what you want to who you want...Zeke Heil Trump. - Makita
It's a post truth post fact world. WD is the best playoff coach in Canuck history. The Canucks are stale just look at old D. FA hates Canuck fans and will do everything possible to destroy the team. |

Did anyone listen to the Benning interview today? He again stated how important Burrrows is to this team and would not ask him to waive.
When asked if he was going to extend Burrows he said they have not reached that decision yet.
I know Marwood labelled it as window dressing yesterday, which is fine. I do think though Benning honestly believes this .He would not ask someone to waive their NTC that has 1 1/2 months left with the team to pick up an asset. That has to be a little concerning to the fans.
It means one of two things. Burrows is coming back or our GM is a total idiot. He could be lying but he hasn't in the past . Neither of these options gives me a sense of security. |

He wants his players to focus on hockey and not worry about trade rumours. If they continue to play good hockey, they should have some value at the TDL.
Let's get to the TDL and see where they stand and what they do and freak out then. |

I am not freaking out . If he does in fact follow through with this strategy he will be gone by the draft.
It is more of when you hear your GM say something totally dumb it will get a response. Benning would have been better to say nothing . |

Don't get me wrong I am not pissed at all at him but I do shake my head. If he wants the players with NTC to know they are safe then call them into his office and tell them so. Don't get the media and fan base scratching their head saying WTF.
I think the Canucks fan base are looking to ship out the old and import the new. Don't come out in December where the team does not look good and say nope , no changes. |

I know you are not freaking out but others are.
I think he said this so players don't have deal with the constant queries about the trade deadline like last year. I think he's trying to quell the rising speculation from the local & 'national' media so that the players only need worry about the next game.
If they do nothing at the deadline and there are legit stories of multiple offers for several players then people are entitled to go ape-sh*t. |

Five regulation wins doesn't exactly strike fear in our opponents
PS: I'd rather be them as their top scorers are 19, ours are 37. - LeftCoaster
Sedins are trying to develop some young ones I hear. WD not warm to the idea of giving younger players the reigns. Though Bo is trying to change his mind on this. |

I figure this too.
We all know what twitter and media are like here. This just gives them fuel for the next 2 1/2 months to rag on Benning.
Benning did say he will try to acquire draft picks so this mean we can expect movement just maybe not who we were hoping to move. |
