I'd like to see the team cut bait with Kane, Bogosian, Lehner. Good on GMTM for trying, but none of the three can be depended upon for consistent play. Frankly, they are all either overrated and/or underpaid.
Gionta has played well. If he keeps it up he deserves to either be traded to a cup contender at the deadline or extended. Either scenario works for me.
Young and talented players need to fill the ? spaces.

I wonder sometimes if old Teddy would have coached us to a better record this year. We have some players now, but it seems we have a lack of drive. - RhinoFan
More than likely our 2017-18 opening night roster looks like this
Carrier* O'Reilly Okposo
Kane Eichel Reinhart
Foligno Larsson Gionta
Deslauriers *insert scrub ahl center here* Moulson
Gorges Ristolainen
McCabe Kulikov (fresh 5 mil / 5 yr contract)
Falk* Fedun*
Lehner (fresh 5 mil / 5 yr contract)
*insert tall goalie here*
IR: Bogosian
* = replaceable with guy Murray liked in Ottawa - chilliard77
Wasn't the NHL supposed to change the rules on the pad size for goaltenders? Did they end up following through with that? Last I heard, it could be a mid-year change (which would be completely stupid to do ithen, but that's besides the point). I wonder if by keeping Lehner and another tall goalie if Buffalo could gain an advantage with pad sizes, because they wouldn't have to change, right?. If/When they do change the pad size rules, I wouldn't mind keeping Lehner around to see how things shake out with the rest of the League. At least with him, we would know what we are getting.
