The 8th place Kings are on pace for 91 pts. Canucks must finish with a record equivalent to 30-18-5 in final 53 gms to match it #impossible - LeftCoaster
If we end up 18-30 and 5, there may be dancing in the streets. No rioting.... just dancing... we are a confusing people.

Considering the canucks have 26 points in 29 games suggests they might not break 70 points this season.

What a sh!tshow of a team. This team is more than 1C and 1D away from being a contender....how about 1C, 1RW, 1LW, 2RW, 2LW, 3RW, 3LW, 1D, 2D, 3D,. there's my take on what the canucks need.
But hey, injuries, travel, back to back schedules, officiating, coaching all sound like better excuses than blaming the talent deficient players.
I guess it's better to say a couple of lucky bounces and we are a .500 team... - Makita

Who knows but it's not as impossible as one of the twins suggested it was at the start of the season. One or two more key injuries, no depth to replace them, and poof! a 65 point season.
65 points was a ESPN prediction wasn't it? A few here suggested they didn't know a thing about hockey (followed by the ever-so-popular and ).

Considering they started out with 4 wins then 9 loses and then have been 8-6-2 in the other games. Not exactly screaming capable but showing that they aren't a losing team. |

Trade Tanev for a piece that helps now. Landeskog example.

DUDE. I know your drinking in the Toronto Media but don't bring that poop here. We have all seen what this team is capable of. A lot of this good periods and bad periods come from the coaching.

URHO VAAKANAINEN

Both D are playing in Finnish men's league. Running mates to go with OJ. Salo is almost a full year older then the first two. - manvanfan
Funny man, DUDE, I'm not into Toronto media, and Ill bring whatever sh!t I want here, you can blame whatever the (frank) you want and I'll blame the lack of talent on the players. This team needs a major overhaul, but hey, carry on with the coaching and schedule.. |

Not sure why people are complaining, I have been part of the tanking since the start of the season. That forward group is just garbage. We need a couple more top picks to be the real deal. I wouldn't compare us to Edmonton, because of the young D we already have. We just need to draft top forwards. - pker2theend
Drafted Jeff Petry, Martin Marincin, David musil, Darnell nurse, and signed college stud Justin Shultz ....they had D prospects and young D they were high on too ..and Shultz came in looking better than stecher has ...not saying it's the same scenario but to say your different might not be entirely true either ... |

With Pedan being sent down the ream has 6 defenceman on roster , does that mean Tanev is soon to return or is it Larsen?
Sure hope they end the Larsen experience he might work out for the Alaska Aces. |

Bovada predictions. They gave ARI the same. They are slightly below that average now.

You are right. I know people trash the watered down skill level of teams in the NHL but it has created a competitive environment where any team can win on any given night.
Problem is, it's no longer about your ability to be competitive during the regular season, it's about your ability to be competitive in the playoffs. The NHL's gone all in on the Stanley Cup, if that's the only thing that matters, so be it.
When LA won their first cup they squeaked into the playoffs. They looked like a barely capable team. They dominated the playoffs and were champions of the league.
I want my team to win but not at the expense of being bounced in the first round again. I want that (frank)ing cup.

They do lack high end talent. The Sedin's are slow. Bo really has no wingers to play with. WD seems to be getting harder and harder on the youth on this team.
In WD first year Bo was the only young player they had really. Ever since then a lot of the youth has struggled.
If you don't make the playoffs you really don't have any chance of winning.
Believing that this team isn't a playoff team, should be looking towards the future and playing the Guys that will be around. Including playing 4th lines regular 10 minutes a game. Not benching Baertschi. Giving Bo something more then Skille and Burrows. |

We MIGHT have these in the system already. But we won't know for a few more years. the 1C COULD be BoHo and we need a 2c, but it is more likely Bo slots as a 2c and we hopefully draft that 1c this year. |

I don't know how to explain it properly but I believe there is two ways to lose -
The bad way is fighting a losing cause. It's admirable but distracts from focusing on the obtainable goal.
The good way is to lose with a purpose. The end result is beneficial so it becomes one element in your plan to be dominant in the future.

You just don't get it, how is it that you and others can blame a specific issue as the sole reason for the performance of the team. And I have to swallow along with this one sided thinking.
The coaching has issues, I get it, done plain and simple. The talent on the team In My Opinion sucks more than anything else, Sven sucks, Grandlund sucks, Skille sucks, Chaput sucks, Megna sucks, Burrows sucks, Sutter is a 3rd line C, Bo is a 3rd line C, Eriksson is a 2nd line LW, the Sedins are 3rd line players, Gudbranson is a #4D, Hutton #5D, Stecher I'm not sure but certainly not better than #4.
It's no wonder WD is blamed. |

Nico and Bo could be good compliments together as a 1-2 punch. A more offensive center would compliment Bo then another 200 foot. A LW is probably this teams biggest need. At least they have JV and Boeser on the right side. Nobody Behind Bo either. . Hope that Travis Green can grow some players like Michael Carcone in Utica into some 2nd or 3rd liner. |

This is the only thing I would disagree with. Bo was on pace as a low end 1C and currently still on pace as a solid 2C for points. He could do a lot more with better wingers, and more PP time. He should be having LE and someone else as his wingers. That would give us a legit 2nd line, but the problem is we really don't have a 3rd line if Sutter and LE are Bo's wingers, Hansen with twins. We would essentially have 2 2nd lines and 2 4th lines with everything after those 6. |

With the present players, it seems as if both methods are being deployed. They are trying to be competitive, but then they dress a bunch of AHL players, they have skill to squeak out a win here and there, but overall it seems like tanking on purpose. |
