Ya around 80-85 seems realistic.
- LordHumungous

Ok so 85 pts, does this really justify all the WD rhetoric, it also takes the team from the 3-5 pick.

Oh and sorry for the anger.

Posters will complain about the coach no matter how well we do.

No worries we all need to vent

"Tank! Blow it up for a top 3 pick! But fire the coach because we want slightly better results!"

As has been suggested here by a few commentors, this team has many holes too fill. Currently we have 1 player, Virtanen, in the system that may or may not be ready to play this season. Other than that we have a couple other prospects in various leagues that may help out in the next season or 2.

Until we get more youth in the system and on the nhl roster expect more of the same.
Although our defense is not great it puts us in a better situation than other rebuilding teams like Colorado Arizona etc and maybe not in the area of Edmonton (McDavid) or Toronto (Matthews).
As a fan I would like too see mostly forwards taken in the next couple drafts and if any trades happen they need to be for forwards that can fill 1 of our many holes
Let's hope that some of the youth already in the system or will be entering system will be closer to nhl ready. I don't want to have to suffer through another Era like the 70's & 80's with teams that were brutal for many years.

Virtanen's all developed now. He's ready to put this team on his back and skate it into the playoffs. He's also picked up some tips from Travis Green, so he's going to be helping WD behind the bench as well.

This is year two of being brutal, expect at least four more of this at the very least. Which would make it a six year run a the bottom of the league.

I can live with 6 years as long as we see some improvement/potential in the system and on the roster, it beats waiting for a decade or 2.

They just need to draft the top 2 lines and an undisputed # 1 D man or two and we are set. With the rebuild virtually done they are so close.

This is it. With guys like Jooris available for next to nothing we continue to roll with 6 AHL guys in the lineup. I'd have to agree at this point they are looking at another high pick.

Megna - AHL
Chapoo - AHL
Gaunce - AHL
Baertchi - AHL
Hutton - AHL
Skille - AHL (for the most part)

How are we going to beat top 10 teams consistently with those 6 constantly in the lineup?

- LordHumungous

Hutton isn't an AHL player, he's just playing with a greater role and responsibility than he should have right now. The problem with Baertschi isn't that he's not an NHLer, it's that he's an NHLer somewhere around 50% of the time.

I thought it was leaning more towards bitter and sarcastic.

He is an NHL talent, but I can see how some might not think he gives an NHL effort all the time. Middle 6 wingers are streaky, which is what Sven is

After last nights game Daniel was pissed and called out the team for not being aggressive enough.

The very first person he should be looking at is a player that looks very much like him. I counted twice last night where Hank had a clear shot on goal with no one in front of him and he tried to pass it to Danny. What about the two two times this year when your brother and you ran out the clock passing the puck in the last 7 seconds of a game.

I really get tired of hearing that.

You're slow Burrows is slow, Ericksson is useless and Edler is a walking breathing brain fart. Forty percent of the teams cap space being wasted.

I think we've already seen that with Benning's drafting. In three drafts, two years, he's produced as many prospects as Nonis and Gillis combined.

Boeser Juolevi Rodin and Lockwood are all question marks. Things could change quick or maybe not. Need to wait and see

For sure...like I just said to what's his name, the prospect pool is deeper (although not deep) than it's been in several years. At least they have some potential there, hopefully 30 to 40 percent of those kids turn out to be something.

Exactly.

I am noticing more and more when there is a lot of pressure in our own end they are usually on the ice.

They still generate chances but they give up an equal amount.

This is what gets my goat ,is we can't really begin change for another year and a half when we need change now.

I thought I heard the same thing, d needs to jump up more and more urgency needed, mentioned after the loss to the Panthers.
