2013 draft class has 4 -100 point players. 2012 has 5. 2011 has 14. 2010 has 18, 2009 has 24.
100 point players doesn't make a top line player. Considering 7 years from the 2009 class and only 10% have scored 100 points. - manvanfan
Well your not wrong, but your not right. How many other those players have produced more points each year? How many stayed in Junior, and then spent 2-3 years in the AHL before joining the NHL? If someone from 2009 spent 2 years in Junior and then 3 years in AHL before making NHL full time, that would be the 2014-2015 that they joined the league. If that year they put up 15-20 pts, and then in the 2015-2016 they put up say 40pts. This year they put up 60 pts, well now they are a 1st line talent. Sure it took them 7+ years from being drafted, but that is what it takes some players. Look at Detroit and some of their 1st line talent. as well as other teams. Someone that got drafted in 2012 may just be breaking into the league this year. Are they a failure because it took them longer to develop? Is it impossible for them to be 1st line in the NHL eventually? |

And Willie is gone? thoughts? - LordHumungous
Although I question some of his calls on ice time and line rolling, I doubt that even Groundskeeper Willie could do better.
WD does not seen interested during the games. He does not argue calls, he is not communicating....
I fear to say I am moving into apathy.

Willie ain't going anywhere. He'll coach until the end of the season. Why would you fire willie now? What would they be salvaging? |

You can push for that all you want but it's not happening regardless of record. Unless there is a clear must grab now coach willing to come here that pops up during the season don't expect any change. |

The ONLY thing that will get Willie fired during the season is that if attendance falls off a cliff. Unless the Canucks bottom line is effected (worse than already projected) then Willie is safe only because Ownership does not want to pay out another contract to another coach while they are paying the old coach to stay at home. And then Benning/Linden can say their choice of coach may not have worked out but at least they didn;t have to fire him... rather they just do not resign. |

While this is true of course 21 pts allowed by the D at the half literally gives us no shot, and isn't sending the right message to the offence that we are keeping it close for you boys. |

I think most of Rogers' success so far has been along the sidelines, not in the centre.... although they are finding success everywhere.

I've actually never really been on the fire WD train but it's clear he is struggling and may have lost the room. Like a few on here I'm not sure firing him now would make much difference. But if ownership wants the shake-up... |

Here's a question:
If you ran this team would you have played Larsen or Subban?
Larsen
Height: 6-0 ft
Weight: 182 lbs
Subban
Height: 5-9 ft
Weight: 181 lbs
I'm curious to see what Subban can do considering what I saw from Larsen. |

And after staying in there during all the early season injuries, I think the D would go through hell for him.
